First rookie since
Josh Dubow

#49ers 6th round pick Elijah Mitchell is 1st rookie since merger drafted in round 4 or later to rush for 100+ yards in season opener. Pvs high was 96 for 6th rounder Alfred Morris in 2012 for Was vs NO w/ Kyle Shanahan as OC, Bobby Turner as RB coach

I disagree. Gardner was the master of the juke and spin move.

Mitchell looked more like Gore to me. Hit those holes hard and was almost always churning forward for extra yards.

Ahem:

"He can fall into a lead job on a weak depth chart that sees its top back go down early."

Had some huge holes to run through but love his ability to run through contact. I thought he was a pure speedster.
his yards after first contact was impressive.

Gore always fell forward and kept his pads low. Even on the so called "big hit" that Mitchell took, it was down low and not up top.

Now, as far as Charlie GARNER (the D is silent). Kinda like ours in the second half.

This.

Charlie Garner was awesome
I think more of a Ricky Waters. I saw that in his college film and I see it today

Watters was a bigger back and more of a receiver than a true RB here.
Didn't remind me of waters at all
