Agree, doesn't hurt to see what we could get. Plus we have Wilson coming back and Hasty who is already higher on the depth chart, so next year we can have those two behind Mitchell as well
He is becoming a fan favorite, The Shannys and their ability to pump out 1k backs is crazy.

think of those years with 2-3 yards and a cloud of dust post Gore… and Shanny 2.0 just poof 1k runner…

i would hold on to Sermon, his opportunity will come. It's gonna be next man up eventually.

paying a premium for any back in this offense is a mistake unless your flirting with a 2k yard back.

He's looking like the best player from our most recent draft so far. Hopefully he stays healthy and continues to produce for us.

He looks tremendous. Way better than 6th round. Good speed and vision too.
Once Wilson is back, he and Mitchell could be a very good duo.

All the more reason that it makes so little sense to trade up for a RB, let alone select one, early in the draft.

Funny how ALL of us knew that but the 49ers didn't

I can get why you might invest a pick in a RB that is truly dynamic or unique but Sermon was none of those things. Very good college RB but not a guy that promises to be a star NFL RB.

I 100% agree with you.

Not with this coach and this offense….

we watched Shanny 1.0 do it for years, and now 2.0 is getting the same production.

i wonder is Shanny or Lynch has a lack of confidence. There is zero reason to pay millions for a RB or burn high draft picks. Yet they have done both.

i am sure it's more complex then turn anyone into a 1000 yard back, but to a layman … that's what it looks like.

i really wonder if they found an Adrian Peterson 2.0 or a larry Allen 2.0… some one on par with a player that anchored a historically great rushing offense if Shanny would shatter NFL rushing records.

in a sense we know fairly average looking talent is above average in his system , would great talent be history setting?

Tremendous vision and speed but hurt again... He needs to get down and not try to put his head down for an extra yard unless it is a critical 3rd or 4th down play. Reminds me a Kittle.. Trying to pick up an extra 2 yards against 4 defenders.. GO THE f**k DOWN.

Dude had like 1000 lbs of lineman on him during that TD. Of course his ribs will hurt.

it'll be interesting what they do with Mostert next year who'll be a 30 year old UFA with an injury history

I would put Mostert in either the rear view mirror or switch him to a 3rd down role like they're using Hasty. Mostert has proved he can't be an every down back with his injuries.

nope. mostert >>mitchell. Mostert is a cheetah. He runs shannys oz like no one since shanny got here. He faster amd reads the play idea better than mitchell who is a rookie.

Next year Mostert will still want starter money and Mitchell wont be a rookie anymore. On a perfectly blocked play, Mostert > Mitchell currently... but running through traffic Mitchell has already shown he's > Mostert. Mostert falls over when anyone taps his shoelaces.

Would prefer to have both... but if people want to spend big money on FAs then Mostert wont be back unless he accepts a bargain basement deal. Based on his negotiation history, thats unlikely.

MMoster deserves pretty good salary since he took us to the Superbowl. Remembet? I really hate when this front office hard balls players who deserve raise. Considering what we paid useless McKinnon and the other do nothing from Atlanta I would say mostert can pick up his payday of 3 Mill
