I'm surprised we only have 4 UDFA's signed so far. Are the Niners cutting back on the number of signings this year, or is this an indication that players think they have less of a chance to make the team here, and are signing elsewhere? Hopefully we sign some more today. Anyone left out there that you think would be a good signing for us?

Both. We were already at 90. These 4 guys mean we'll have to cut 4 other guys.

I doubt we sign more. No need to sign UDFA DL (due to the Raider castoffs) or OL/DB (draftees).
I have the team at 89 with the rookies (from OTC), but that includes Richburg (who might not retire until June 1 to save $3m+ cap space). So need to downsize by 3 to make it to 90.

The obvious cuts are the three Joshuas (Rosen, Johnson, Hokit). Team can also cut one of Sanu/Benjamin (to be re-signed when Richburg officially retires June 1).

They have 90 signed with Richburg, so 4 have to go, the most logical cuts are Josh Johnson, Matt Cole, Kai Nacua, & Chris Edwards.

Totally agreed. As always.

They won't cut both Rosen & Johnson, they need 4 QBs, and Hokit will be there in the preseason, we have no other FB, and we can't play Juice too much in preseason. I can see Benjamin cut, he counts $1.075M, that's too much IMO, Sanu was just signed, he's cheap, if he makes it he counts $915K(he got a $25K signing bonus already, would get a $40K roster bonus if he makes the week 1 roster.

They went with 3 QB last year. The 4th spot in the Shanny era was always given to an UDFA rookie QB from the rookie minicamp, who was -at best - destined to get on the PS as #3QB.I vaguely remember Shanny complaining that the 4th guy did not get any meaningful snaps all TC.
Rosen is not in the team's plans anymore, and Lance needs all the snaps he could get.

I had Helm as the backup FB, Ourlads listed him as such.

I went with OTC, they only had 89 listed. Anyways, it is the end of the roster, the only guys who care are the ones who are getting cut.

Oh, yeah OTC doesn't have Tom Compton on the 49ers page.

I meant they need 4 QBs in camp/preseason. I hope they go 2 QBs, but I doubt it.

Beyond getting our QB of the future, this draft was more about beefing up the OL and adding significant firepower to the backfield. Have to remember Mostert, Wilson and Gallman are only signed for this season. Of them, maybe one or possibly two are likely to be re-signed. My first choice would be Wilson, who showed last year how good he really is. I'm stoked about both Banks and Moore...Aaron's a huge man, but Coach says don't be fooled by it, he can move. I read he's an excellent pass protector. Moore may shift inside, we'll see. The important thing is these guys can help build the OL corps into a real strength. RG has been problematic for too long & I see Banks as the guy to change that. Thomas and Lenoir should be pretty competitive for roster spots...again, only Moseley's signed beyond this season. Really like Hufanga, the S out of USC. We're obviously going to play a good deal of smash-mouth football, which is music to my ears. It'll help Jimmy/Lance in terms of play-action, no doubt. Long drives keep opponents on the sidelines and give our defense the rest they'll need. I really like what ShanaLynch did in this draft...no nonsense, kick-butt approach.

I pick Austin Walter to go since we have so many rb. I think we keep Matt Cole. We are looking for a slot wr. He was an udfa last year from division two.
He seemed like he had potential as a slot receiver punt returner. I'd like to seem what he has first since we took him off Miami's practice squad late.

Hilliard got the same money(GTD) that Sullivan got, I can see Watkins also getting the same. Teams are capped at $160K in signing bonus money given out, so they've given out $60K to the 2 LBs, if the same for Watkins, then $90K spent, leaving $70K, or less depending on what they gave Pederson. Teams aren't capped on what amount they can guarantee in their base salary.

Looks like Joe Burrow and Justin are close. Good article above on his journey. 6 years in college because on injuries. Looks like he attacked rehab and the classroom. Came out with a Masters degree and a shot at the NFL.

That's amazing, to come back after those injuries, 6yrs at OSU, to hopefully continue his career, I'll be rooting for him, and Watkins to make the team, also Sullivan.

At one point he was a 5 star top recruit at LBer. Injuries have killed him unfortunately...he finally got to play this year and put up some good tape. I'll be rooting for this dude
