After all the procedural moves, this would be my guess for week one roster..

OFFENSE - 24
QB: Purdy, Darnold
RB: CMC, Mitchell, Mason, TDP
FB: Juice
WR: Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Bell, McCloud
TE: Kittle, Woerner, Latu, & Willis
C: Brendel, Feliciano
OG: Banks, Burford, & Manning
OT: Trent, McKivitz, Moore

DEFENSE - 26
DE: Bosa, Jackson, Ferrell, Hyder, Bryant
IDL: Armstead, Hargrave, Kinlaw, Givens, & McGill
LB: Warner, Greenlaw, DFF, Robinson, Graham, Winters
CB: Ward, Lenoir, Ambry Thomas, Oliver, Womack, & Jamison
S: Gipson, Hufanga, Brown, & Odum

SPECIAL TEAMS
K: Moody
P: Wishnowsky
LS: Pepper

IR: WR Gray, WR Conley, DE Beal, LB Burks, K Gonzalez, S Hawkins
PUP: CB Luter

NOTES:
I think we'll just elevate someone from the practice squad at certain spots like receiver and kicker if necessary. No need for anyone to take up an active roster spot.

PRACTICE SQUAD: 17
RB 36 Brian Hill*
FB 33 Jack Colletto
WR 83 Willie Snead IV*
LB Marcelino McCray Ball (if not traded)
TE 89 Ross Dwelley*
LG 63 Nick Zakelj
RG 51 Jason Poe
RG 66 Joey Fisher
LT 75 Matt Pryor*
LT 78 Leroy Watson IV
RT 77 Alfredo Gutierrez**
DT Kalia Davis
DT Marlon Davidson
DE 58 Alex Barrett
K Dustin Hopkins (brought over after Chargers cuts)
CB/FS 43 Qwuantrezz Knight
SS 38 Myles Hartsfield*

I'd be fine with this 53, but remember they only get 8 spots to bring players back, so I wonder who of the injured guys gets IR'd, I think Burks makes the 53 for opening day, might be inactive. How serious is Gray, Beal and Conley injuries? That's a big question, not sure ytou waste a spot on those 3, I might just IR Beal as a redshirt year.

As I mentioned to you AB, I think the harder roster to project is the initial roster. OTC, what is your initial roster prior to designations?

I strongly feel that we probably swing a trade to send one of our guys somewhere. I also think McGill, Hyder, and Bryant are guys who could be procedural cuts that come back. Maybe Robinson doesn't make the initial cut to free up one more space if needed too.

Something I just thought of, Nick Bosa is on the reserve/Did Not Report list, meaning unless he signs before 4pm est Tuesday, he won't be on the initial 53, team could keep someone to IR then Bosa signs Wednesday, just food for thought.

This is pretty close to what I have. With unknown injury timelines it makes the guessing game a bit murky at some spots. Like Burks last I heard they were hopeful he's back for the first game. I actually have Dwelley making it and them putting Willis on the ps. I think they like Dwelley's versatility in that he can fill in for Juice, etc... Dude finds a way to stick every year even though he's pretty much average.

That is brilliant!
Keep Troy Fumagalli for Tide End #88. He is good blocking and Ross Dwelley is suck for blocking. Cut to Oliver for corner back #26 because he is suck for coverage and bad tackles! Should release to Ross Dwelley and Isaiah Oliver!

I don't have Ilm Manning or D'Shawn Jamison on my 53 now, I think they keep Davis at NT, and Zakelj gets the final IOL job, just have a feeling they'll waive both, and both should clear waivers, I hope. I hope they both make the 53, but I had to go with my gut feeling this time.

At the end of the day, Zakelj has performed atrocious in the games and apparently got beat repeatedly in practice. I have him getting deservedly cut.

I am honestly wondering how much Kyle defers on these decisions or if he let's positional coaches have almost full authority.

I can't fathom Manning getting cut. Too much tape has been put out with him shutting down starting NFL DL.

He's a former WR. He clearly doesn't know s**t about the OL even after it annually costs him. He still loads up on skill positions and the DL like it's 1995 again.

That's how I'd lean on the 53.

cuts should be coming in soon.

Saw this listed on bleacher

The 49ers have made the following cuts:

  1. Waived safety Avery Young
  2. Waived running back Ronald Awatt
  3. Waived/injured defensive lineman Daelin Hayes
  4. Waived running back Khalan Laborn

  5. Waived defensive lineman Tomasi Laulile
  6. Waived wide receiver Dazz Newsome
I give up with roster projections, now Latu needs meniscus surgery, Zane is out a few weeks, who knows if Moody will be ready, team will need to restructure someone(Trent or Armstead) to have cap room if they have to sign a Kicker(Gould?).

Latu will be red shirted now. Opens another initial 53 spot

Seriously. More details here: https://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/171248-shanahan-provides-injury-updates-preseason-finale-rookies-season/
I have no idea what we're going to do this week.

We could feasibly use a PS spot for a kicker.

Bosa unsigned gives us an extra spot temporarily.

The tricky part is that none of the injuries we have are long term or season ending.

The only benefit to red shirting Latu and Beal is contract wise. They won't accrue a season and they'll be RFAs after their fourth years instead of UFAs.

Yes. I wanted restructure for Armstead because he was not counts for sacks over 2 years. "Shrug!" It is fact.. And signed a kicker for Gould to bring us please..
