We could feasibly use a PS spot for a kicker.

Bosa unsigned gives us an extra spot temporarily.

The tricky part is that none of the injuries we have are long term or season ending.

The only benefit to red shirting Latu and Beal is contract wise. They won't accrue a season and they'll be RFAs after their fourth years instead of UFAs.

My guess is Latu and Beal are IR'd. Gonzalez potentially as well. Although I'd say it's more likely he's cut as an injury settlement. I think Gray and McCloud are likely kept on the initial 53 then IR'd. Also like you said I expect a kicker to be put on the practice squad.

I wonder what they do with Zane, he has a $1.465M base salary, non-GTD, if they IR him he's done for the season, but like Willisfn4life said they could do an injury settlement, not sure how much less he'd be willing to take, it'll be interesting to see what they do.

I have to think Moody makes the 53, but we elevate a PK week 1. I still wonder if they IR Beal & Latu outright, redshirt them, you only have 8 designate for return from IR spots, and we have the following injured players you'd like to have this year.

Moody
Latu
McCloud
Gray

Plus these

Beal?
Zane?

Yikes!
It's starting to sound like we're going to need to do several injury settlements. We don't have a ton of vets we can procedurally cut and re-sign. Bryant, Hyder, McGill, who else?

Outside of that, our only options are season ending IR.

We are likely going to lose some good players to waivers because we have no choice but to cut them.

We're likely desperately looking for some takers on trades for a few guys now too.

Here's a list of guys on the bubble who have enough seasons to be cut and brought back without going thru waivers AND don't have guaranteed money that we'd have to worry about:

DE BRYANT
DL MCGILL
DL HYDER
OL PRYOR
QB ALLEN
WR SNEAD

Options for season ending IR:
TE LATU
DE BEAL
CB PARKER
K MOODY (though I'm doubtful)

Likely injury settlements IMO:
WR CONLEY
K GONZALEZ

Other NOTES:
DE Bosa would not count toward the 53 while he's on the reserve/did not report list, so one extra spot, temporarily.

With this all said, my initial 53 would have to look like this:
QB: Purdy, Darnold
RB/FB: CMC, Mitchell, Mason, TDP | Juice
WR: Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Bell, Gray, McCloud
TE: Kittle, Woerner, Latu, Dwelley
OL: Brendel, Feliciano, Banks, Burford, Manning | Trent, McKivitz, Moore

DL: Jackson, Ferrell, Hyder | Armstead, Hargrave, Kinlaw, Givens, Davis
LB: Warner, Greenlaw, DFF, Burks, Graham, Winters
CB: Ward, Lenoir, Ambry Thomas, Oliver, Womack, Jamison
S: Gipson, Hufanga, Brown, & Odum

ST: Moody, [kicker acquired via trade], Wishnowsky, Pepper

And then my final week one 53 would be:
IR w/ Possibility of Return: K Moody, TE Latu, LB Burks, WR Gray
IR season ending: DE Beal, CB Parker
PUP: CB Luter

(24) OFFENSE
QB: Purdy, Darnold
RB/FB: CMC, Mitchell, Mason, TDP | Juice
WR: Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Bell, McCloud
TE: Kittle, Woerner, Dwelley
OL: Brendel, Feliciano, Banks, Burford, Manning | Trent, McKivitz, Moore, Pryor

(26) DEFENSE
DL: Bosa, Jackson, Ferrell, Hyder, Bryant | Armstead, Hargrave, Kinlaw, Givens, Davis, McGill
LB: Warner, Greenlaw, DFF, Graham, Winters
CB: Ward, Lenoir, Ambry Thomas, Oliver, Womack, Jamison
S: Gipson, Hufanga, Brown, & Odum

(3) ST: [kicker acquired via trade], Wishnowsky, Pepper

OTC, Well thought out. Wouldn't be surprised if this how it plays out.
AB,

How many players can you have return from short term IR this season?
Just waived 5 players - one of them is Waige from NDSU.

There is no limit on how many players a team can place on IR, but there is a limit as to how many can be designated to return. A team can bring a maximum of eight players off IR throughout the season.

Only thing i'd say different is I think Grey or/and McCloud will be placed on IR (but make the 53) and then Willie Snead will make it. maybe Conley too.

This is correct, only 8 players can come off of IR.

Actually Bryant has $550K GTD, McGill $400K, Allen $200K, & Snead $250K

Thanks, that's what I meant to ask.
