All those good extra kickers got snapped up, right? Folk, Lutz, Hopkins gone...I wanted Hopkins.

We kept moody on the 53, so either we IR him if he won't be ready for week one and roll with one of the guys we tried out for a month. Or he will be ready week 1.

i feel like he will be ready week 1

Or we sign another K to the practice squad and activate him for the Steelers game only while Moody is made inactive.

I think this is more likely if they think Moody only misses a game or two.

A game or two seemed to be what they thought he might miss.

Brock must be politicking internally for his roommate hahaha
Any surprise cuts from other teams worth picking up? I scanned the names, and didn't see any that really jumped out.

I was hoping they'd cut Brandon Allen too but I guess with the new rule that the 3rd QB can be active in gameday without counting towards the 46 makes carrying three make sense.

Yeah, I was too. Lol we are screwed if he's playing anyways. So what's the difference between having a guy on the practice squad all year that is playing at that point or Brandon allen?

just a waste of a roster spot in my opinion. It's a bigger concern later in the season than it is at the end. Not a big deal if we run out of QBs in the first half of the season vs if we do in the playoffs.

Allen is a nice guy to have. He was a QB2 last season. Insurance, and we are taking advantage of our own rule, the Brock Purdy rule. So he will uniform each week, if not be truly active.

Yeah, I understand the reasoning. I'm not mad about it, I just don't think Allen is hard to replace or that we couldn't stash him on the practice squad. We signed him late in free agency, so it isn't that teams loved him.

Other than size, I haven't seen any redeeming qualities from Zakelj's game. Maybe I missed something.

Same with Jaylon Moore. I could understand them cutting Manning due to his inexperience in run blocking in this scheme, but Moore didn't look great there either.

I was a staunch defender of mad leg moody when we drafted him but boy is he making life hard on me here the last few weeks. Hahaha I still think he will be good. Just need him to get healthy and hopefully he calms down.
The only cut I'm truly upset about is Jamison. The rest I can understand the reasoning.

Zakelj was a little surprising to me but I wasn't shocked. I actually think he plays solid outside of his penalties.

i can't wrap my head around moore. I feel like that guy is awful but they keep doing everything they can to give him a chance. Lol

im not too skilled at breaking down o line, so I could be way off, but I feel like I've always seen moore just get abused.

Brock Purdy made the roster! Yes!

Got lucky 2 consecutive years. That must be something for the last pick of the draft

Bradley Roby to solve our nickel
I think if anybody can get anything out of Anthony Schwartz, it's KS, but I don't see any way he can fit on our roster, unless on ST / KR

I liked Jamison but if it was him or Oliver or Womack then they made the right call. A return specialist in a league trying to remove returns isn't worth a roster spot

Maybe they told him he'll be on the PS if not picked up on waivers. Either way that would mean he has a job in the NFL.

On Zakelj, I did a little research on him. I found out he's durable as heck, and while he may not be a top flight OLineman, if he's durable and can continue to just show up. Durability is Ability. Guys who are durable usually improve over time with enough game reps AND they have some modicum of talent.
