brock lives with two giant Amazonian men
yeah.. i can see having a TW sized guy worth keeping
Nick Zakelj is a big dude, young (24), has promise to be a solid lineman. He was drafted in 2022. When I watched him play this pre season, I thought his main issue was just penalties (which are obviously a big problem) but I think he's much more capable at this point than poe and manning - I also think he is more versatile.
the big problem with our reserve O lineman this year, besides sucking, is that they aren't versatile. It's why we have 9 instead of 8. We don't have a swing player - only guys who can play either left or right
Or technically sound. Foerster loves physical profiles.
It is Foerster's job to improve their tech. Moore was better this camp than last year. Zakelj the same. Zakelj was used on both sides. I recall they felt he would be better on the inside than outside. I'm going to go back and watch some of their PS games now that the roster is set. I have a hunch I will like them both more than I thought I would after the first game.
Please do. Moore looked the same to me. Solid overall but inconsistent with mental mistakes. Zakelj just looked poor all around from strength, technique to mentally unsure of himself.
I watched the LAC game last night. Much of it was just based on results...against 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string guys from just the TV camera angle (no All-22). So:
Moore showed good strength. His footwork was correct when I could see his feet. PP was adequate. On one occasion he had a good first hit on a drive block but did not stay on his man who made the tackle 5 yards downfield. Overall I give him a solid B.
Zakelj was up and down. He showed his strength on several occasions. When his technique is on, he can dominate. His coordination in picking up a couple of stunts was good. Penalties need to stop. The frustrating thing is that he was in good position. He didn't need to hold. Overall, I can see why he made the 53.
Pryor had a solid game. Was quite good in PP.
I'm not sure this helps much other than confirm the decisions that were made on the 53.
