I have 3 differences but this is very close.
1) I believe Lance starts week 1 and Garoppolo as backup
2) I think Street is above Kerr or Hurst
3) I don't think Coleman makes it, but I expect that spot to be another O-lineman (who's not currently on the roster)

Will agree to disagree. But for the sake of the conversation…

Lance is not ready to start full time. I really do believe we will follow the same strategy that Kansas City did with Alex Smith and Mahomes. Hopefully it has the same outcome. I do however think this season we will see Lance come in on certain key downs and situations, where we can cause mismatches for defenses.

I like Kerr more than Street, but to me it's very very close between Street and Hurst. I trust Kocurek's opinion here.

Coleman through injury and opting out of covid is still here. At this point he would know the offense inside out and I would trust him a lot more than Moore or McKivitz to come in at LT should (knock on wood) anything happen to Trent Williams.

Agree with this. Hope to see Jeff Wilson back by midseason or so.

Based on yesterday, I see no place for Ritchie James, Travis Benjamin or River Cracraft - we've plenty of people on the team that can catch passes and fair catch punts.

James still has a slight chance to make the team but the others are Benjamin and Cracraft are out. I hope they get cut as part of the first cut down but I think they'll go with the final cuts. Need the bodies out there to take the hits.

Based on what I saw last night Sherfield (who has been great in practices has shown up gameday). He is a LOCK to make the roster. I also think Simba is a LOCK to make the roster because as stated above fair catching balls does not improve field position.

Ayuk, Samuel, Sherfield, Simba, Sanu, Hurd ( i know i am lame but its year 3, come on Jalen)
PS- Jennings, River Cracecraft

Let walk James, Travis Benjamin

Sherfield is absolutely a lock. I think Jennings makes the team as well. I could actually see them keeping 7 WRs and only go with 3 TEs so they can keep Nsimba for his returns.

Did Ambry Thomas ever return punts or kickoffs at Michigan? It's too bad Mitchell got hurt because I would have liked to see what he could do.

Hurd hasn't done anything to earn a roster spot over Jennings except being a third round pick which is irrelevant at this point

Jennings is making the team.

I will place a gentlemans bet that Jennings does not make the final roster, passes through waivers and is on the 49ers PS. We overvalue our own players as do other teams. Is this fair, no, but it happens every year.

You think there are 5 better WRs on the team?
The week of Hurd. If he doesn't practice this week, he's gone. Then the receiving corp would be set with:
Deebo
Aiyuk
Sanu
Sherfield
Jennings
Nsimba

Those should be the 6 WR, only way they keep Hurd if he shows up is if they sacrifice another position to keep a 7th receiver, or if they list him as TE just for the fun of it.

What if Hurd looks healthy and gets a couple catches in the next preseason game, while Jennings and Nsimba don't. You can't be so reactionary to one preseason game.

Nsimba brings special teams juice and I don't see anything Hurd can do that Jennings can't

I think the play with Hurd is IR. But he has to make the 53 first so he can come off IR. Can't IR him before the final 53 or he is IR'd for season. I doubt they want to do that yet again. He'd be a hell of an insurance policy on IR should 1 o the 6 get hurt. But I also agree with Jennings and Hurd are somewhat interchangeable at this point and Jennings checks the availability box. Going to be interesting for sure. I'm on the Nsimba train as well simply bc we HAVE to start treating Special Teams with more respect. No one has stepped up and shown they want and are good @ PR/KR duties yet except for Nsimba. If Sanu can do it in a pinch if Webster gets hurt so be it. Maybe Hasty can do it if he beats out Gallman. But Nsimba is worth a roster spot. We've got to do some good things on special teams this year.

The Hurd one is weird. Kyle publicly calls him out and then he comes back and plays great in practice. Then Kyle praises his performance publicly but shuts him down for the first pre season game.

What exactly is their play here?
