I wonder how Moore would do at RG and Brunskill as the Swing OT?

I was thinking the same thing.

There would be two more players with less than 3 accrued years added, to bring the total to the max of 6 with 3 or more accrued years, & 10 with 2 or less, for a total of $3.168 million used up.

*Denotes player with 3 or more accrued years
**Denotes International Pathway Player who automatically goes on the Practice Squad if the team chooses, but he's ineligible to play during the season.

With this roster the 49ers would have $2,160,646 in cap room to begin 2021, meaning they'll definitely need to restructure a contract or two, with Arik Armstead($4.528 million saved), & Laken Tomlinson($2.808 million saved) being the most logical choices.

Now, they'll also need $1,569,852 to payback 16 players' per game roster bonuses that don't count against the cap right now, with those 17 players, and the amounts listed below.

QB Jimmy Garoppolo – $517,647
RB Raheem Mostert – $132,353
FB Kyle Juszyzck – $23,529
TE George Kittle – $52,941
TE Ross Dwelley – $11,765
C Alex Mack – $70,588
LG Laken Tomlinson – $23,529
LT Trent Williams – $132,353
DE Arik Armstead – $44,118
DE Samson Ebukam – $29,412
NT D.J. Jones – $44,118
NT Zach Kerr – $20,588
WLB Marcell Harris – $5,882
CB Jason Verrett – $235,294
FS Jimmie Ward – $88,235
FS Ha Ha Clinton-Dix – $137,500

With so many injuries, the 49ers have lost a tremendous amount of cap room due to this, when you look at the 3 players likely to begin on reserve/PUP, Jeff Wilson Jr.($2.05 million), Tarvarius Moore($1,116,093), & Jaquiski Tartt($987,500), they'll count a total of $4,153,593, so with 3 players replacing them on the 53, making at minimum of $660,000, that means the team will lose $1.98 million, meaning they will have lost $2,173,593 in cap room.

Then when you look at the players I have on short term IR, Elijah Mitchell($705,893), Jalen Hurd($1,167,186), & Maurice Hurst Jr.($1.045 million), totaling $2,918,079, with Mitchell, & Hurst, expected to be on the final 53, with a small shot of Hurd, they'll have 3 players taking their spots making at least $660,000, for a loss of $938,079 if Hurd were to make the team, or $430,893 with Hurd not making the 53.

So that's a loss of $3,311,672 if all of the 6 players listed above were likely to make the final 53, or $2,604,486 if all but Hurd were likely to make the final 53, which is a lot of money to lose.

Edit: If they cut Pruitt for someone making $850K, they'll lose $500K in cap room, also if they keep Benjamin over Webster they'll lose $225K in cap room, so $725K total lost, which is quite a bit.

You're saying Hurd makes the initial 53? In your scenario, which WR do you cut and bring back?

Well, I have 3 players on short term IR, Mitchell, Hurd & Hurst, so I'd cut Gallman for Mitchell, Sanu for Hurd, and Ha Ha for Hurst, then brought back on the same deals the next day.

Why not cut Kerr for Hurst? He loves being here. Ha Ha might take a better deal if offered.

I like this idea except put Brunskill in at RT instead of McWiff.

It really doesn't matter who it is to be honest, whoever is cut will be told to stay in the bay area and re-signed the next day, it happens every yr, it's the only way to get players on IR to return, they basically agree(players) to re-sign the next day.

i also like how brendal has played at center any way he makes the team and why do we need 4 te?
All 4 cuts, guys who didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of making the team.

The major issue is the salary cap, if we cut Pruitt for anyone making $850K, like Brendel or Matthews, we lose $500K, due to him having $637,500 of his $987,500 cap number GTD. Besides Brendel doesn't go through waivers, so they can sign him to the PS without any issues.

AB- No WR on PS?

seems risky.
I know some people, regarding the salary cap, will say why not create extra cap room, well, it's not that simple.

Right now only 4 players have big enough base salaries to restructure.

Garoppolo - $24.1M (Save max of $18.42M, minimum of $11,512,500)
Ward - $8.4M (Save max of $5.86M, minimum of $4,883,333)
Armstead - $6.65M ($4.528M savings no matter what due to him having enough years to prorate over 5 yrs)
Laken - $4.5M (Save max of $2.808M, minimum of $2,632,500)

Also, there aren't many players with salaries high enough to redo or have take a pay cut.

Looking at the FA signees, Trent got a $1.55M base salary, the minimum for him is $1.075M, so not much savings, not likely they'll ask him to take less anyway.

Juice got the minimum of $1.075M

Mack got $1.425M, minimum for him is also $1.075M

D.J. Jones got $1M, minimum for him is $990K

Ebukam got $1.5M, minimum for him is $990K

They already redid Dee, he has a $4M base, minimum is $1.075M for him.

Marcell Harris got $1M, minimum for him is $920K

Every other FA signed got minimum base salaries, the only other guy with a good sized base salary is Mostert at $2.975M, highly doubt he takes a pay cut, not sure they'll extend him, he likely wants to be paid more than what he got, more in the $5M a yr range.

Any rooks or rookie deals(players on them still) with more than minimum can't lower them, as you can't touch their deals until after their 3rd season, so Kinlaw, Aiyuk, Deebo, Hurd can't have their deals touched yet.

Uhh, I figure they'll either sign Cracraft to it, or add 2 outside WRs, since I have 2 open spots on my PS, both need to be the 2 or less accrued years.

I see.

I figure they try to keep 1 in system that can be called up.

Yeah they could, maybe if Webster is cut, they'll bring him back, or James. Just seems like the only WRs that won't make the team(53 or injured) are a combination of 2 of these 4, Webster, Jennings, Benjamin, James.
