No, he already confirmed he'd be a DE in our W9 and it sounds like he might even be a starter based on what he was told. We might be going away from that 295 pound DE.

So who are you benching from the front 7 I listed? Jones, then playing Kinlaw at 1T and Armstead at 3t? It just makes more sense to me to play Ebukam over Al-Shaair than essentially over Jones (in base) Unless you think he's taking Armstead's snaps in base? I guess like AB said on the last page it'll probably be largely game plan specific. I definitely like Bosa and Ebukam as W9 ends in passing situations

Yeah, I think Ebukam's main snaps come from the EDGE as a LEO or DE in the W9, but I can see him in without his hands in the grass.

Also, we're gonna rotate however many players we keep, we should keep between 9-10, 8 will definitely be active, so if healthy, not counting Dee, we should have Bosa, AA, Ebukam, Key, Kinlaw, Hurst, Jones, & Kerr, Willis would be inactive most likely if he makes the team, if Dee is back, then you either inactivate Key, or go with 9 DL active on gamedays, with 1 less somewhere else.

Can't wait for lame ass Seattle to pounce on the 49ers cuts!
Maybe we should start offering them some of our potential late cuts right now for late round picks in the next few drafts? Better to get something for them now, than to get nothing for them once cut. LOL

Not bad, but I think Mitchell makes it over Hasty, and Kerr IMO is a lock, can play NT, DT, & DE. Blair isn't signed btw. But great work.

Everyone needs to pad lock your doors board up your windows, cause ShanyGrimReaper is coming lol. Still funny that he said that.
I'm not as high on Hufanga as everyone else. I think he is a PS candidate.

I know someone brought this up before, but maybe Street can be a trade for a late draft choice.
hmm if what is being said about Sherman working on a new deal with the 49ers, then that changes the 53-man roster, 6 CBs make it then for sure.

Ok, just for fun, with Sherm back.

QB(3): Jimmy Garoppolo(2022)/ Trey Lance(2024)/ Nate Sudfeld(2021)
RB(5): Raheem Mostert(2021)/ Jeff Wilson Jr.(2021)/ Trey Sermon(2024)/ Wayne Gallman Jr.(2021)/ Elijah Mitchell(2024)
FB(1): Kyle Juszyzck(2025)
WR(6): Brandon Aiyuk(2023)/ Deebo Samuel(2022)/ Trent Sherfield(2021)/ Richie James Jr.(2021)/ Jalen Hurd(2022)/ 1 of the following Travis Benjamin(2021), Jauan Jennings(2021), Mohamed Sanu Sr.(2021), Austin Watkins Jr.(2023)
TE(3): George Kittle(2025)/ Ross Dwelley(2021)/ Charlie Woerner(2023)
C(2): Alex Mack(2023)/ Daniel Brunskill(2021)
OG(3): Laken Tomlinson(2021)/ Aaron Banks(2024)/ Colton McKivitz(2023)
OT(3): Trent Williams(2026)/ Mike McGlinchey(2022)/ Jaylon Moore(2024)
DE(5): Nick Bosa(2022)/ Arik Armstead(2024)/ Samson Ebukam(2022)/ Arden Key(2021)/ Jordan Willis(2021)
DT(2): Javon Kinlaw(2023)/ Maurice Hurst Jr.(2021)
NT(2): D.J. Jones(2021)/ Zach Kerr(2021)
LB(4): Fred Warner(2021)/ Dre Greenlaw(2022)/ Azeez Al-Shaair(2021)/ 1 of the following Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles(2021), Nathan Gerry(2021), Justin Hilliard(2023), Elijah Sullivan(2023)
CB(6): Jason Verrett(2021)/ Emmanuel Moseley(2022)/ K'Waun Williams(2021)/ Richard Sherman(2021 or 2022)/ Ambry Thomas(2024)/ Deommodore Lenior(2024)
FS(2): Jimmie Ward(2022)/ Tarvarius Moore(2021)
SS(3): Jaquiski Tartt(2021)/ Marcell Harris(2021)/ Talanoa Hufanga(2024)
ST(3): Robbie Gould(2022)/ Mitch Wishnowsky(2022)/ Taybor Pepper(2022)

The unknowns, Dee Ford and Kevin Givens, Ford would take Willis's spot if he's ready week 1, if not he's likely on short term IR, as for Givens, even if he isn't convicted I can see him being suspended 2-4 games anyway for assault, the NFL does their own investigation, players can, and have been suspended even if not convicted.

Rosen is better than Sudfeld.

That doesn't look too bad actually. Quite a few people going to be FA after this year so I like that some of the younger guys have the chance to stick on the roster.

Bold are likely to make roster this year.
Looking at the 2019 draft there were:

Bosa
Samuel
Hurd - health is the question not talent
Wishnowski
Greenlaw
Kaden Smith - gone to the Giants
Skule - maybe practice squad
Tim Harris - where is he?

2020 was:

Kinlaw
Aiyuk
McKivitz
Woerner
Jennings - really have no idea how he is shaping up but liked how much of a bully he was on his college tape.

2021 is:

Lance
Banks
Sermon
Thomas
Moore
Lenoir
Hufanga
Mitchell

Of the 2021 class, Thomas and Lenoir just need to look promising to stick I think as their competition is typical of backup DBs. Hufanga is in a similar situation. Banks is the only one with pressure to be good immediately which is a nice luxury. He looks to be quite capable though. If Mitchell looks good he allows a lot of roster flexibility at RB+WR because you don't necessarily need to keep someone like Banjamin around just for his return ability, or Sherfield for his kick coverage and can go with Watkins and/or Jennings if they look decent. The lack of a speedy outside guy aside from Aiyuk would be a bit concerning, but I'm not sure either Sherfield or Benjamin is good enough to get better results in that role than someone like Watkins who may not be quite as fast but is good at jump balls.

In short(ish), I like what your roster looks like with Sherman (because I think it makes it easier to keep the rookie DBs as they are both made better by Sherm's presence and not as critical) and I think Mitchell will look pretty good, making our WR group Samuel, Aiyuk, Hurd (this is really going to be the year!), James, and Watkins, with Jennings a possibility unless they want to use a roster spot elsewhere as he can probably? make it back to the PS.

I'll bite.

QB: Garoppolo/Lance* (PS: Sudfeld)
Assuming you can still protect PS players, there's no reason to now have 3 on the active roster.

RB: Mostert/Wilson/Sermon*/Mitchell* (PS: Hasty)
I think it's likely Gallman or someone else gets traded for a WR, CB, or TE due to the respective team's injury in TC or preseason

FB: Juice
Duh

TE: Kittle/Dwelley/Woerner
I think Dwelley is an underrated #2. Juice, Hurd, or an OT can add depth in a pinch; hence only 3 on the roster.

WR: Samuel/Sherfield* (PS: Jennings)
WR: Aiyuk/James
WR: Hurd/Watkins*
Hurd vs. Sanu, James vs. Benjamin, White vs. Sherfield, Jennings vs. Watkins; I noted the winners in the depth chart

LT: Williams/Skule
LG: Tomlinson/Moore*
C: Mack/Brunskill (RETIRE: Richburg)
RG: Banks*/McKivitz
RT: McGlinchey (PS: Coleman)
Moore, Skule, and McKivitz can play T or G. Brunskill will exclusively focus on C.

DE: Ebukam*/Ford/Key* (PS: Hall)
DT: Armstead/Kerr*/Hurst* (PS: Daniels; SUSP: Givens)
DT: Kinlaw/Jones
DE: Bosa/Willis
It's unclear Givens status. He's likely to be suspended to start the season. Ford is another mystery.

SLB: Hufanga*
MLB: Warner/Gerry*
WLB: Greenlaw/Al-Shaair (PS: Hillard*)
I don't think Flanningan-Flowers makes it. Hufanga and Gerry are significant depth upgrades. Hillard ends up on our PS.

CB: Verrett/Thomas* (PS: Webster, Harris)
CB: Moseley/Johnson
NB: Williams/Lenoir*
FS: Ward/Moore
SS: Tartt/Wilson*
There's a good chance we add a vet to the roster as an upgrade to D. Johnson. Verrett and KK have an injury history.

ST: Gould, Wishnowsky, Pepper
Mitchell will be our primary KR/PR; no surprises here

Hey AB. Hope all is well. Seems that everyone is forgetting about OT Shon Coleman. This guy is talented and I think he makes the roster this year. IMO, they should carry 9 OL on the 53. I actually hope they don't sign Sherman unless he agrees to come off the bench which is not in Sherman's DNA. They are going to go more man coverage this season and Sherm is a liability.

Hey 60sfan, doing good, how about you? I'm ok with Sherman back on a cheap 1 or 2 yr deal, but yes I agree don't want him starting, but he would be the top guy off the bench IMO. I'm worried about Shon Coleman, it's been a while since he's actually played any meaningful snaps.
