maybe we should tap the brakes on trading jimmy before this saturday talk? i still hold out hope for travis to make the team.

What? The best time to trade him is when he's playing well.

It;'s practice though. He gonna have to play well like this in some games for a team to come calling

Team come calling? Jimmy is our week 1 starter, no doubt. We aren't trading Jimmy away unless a major pick and/or package is offered, and even then the team may decline. All this trade Jimmy stuff is just forum fodder. Trey is not yet ready, and this team is primed for a run.

Whether Trey is ready or not, if a team called us today and offered a 2nd rounder for Jimmy, it'd be hard to turn down.

This is not about trading him. That would leave us with Sudfeld as qb2. I do not believe there is any plan to trade him this side of February 2022.
you must have not been to the jimmy trey thread lately. there are many who think he needs to be traded now to a qb needy team and give the keys to trey

What do you think? This is an honest question.

A two is not worth the risk, in my humble opinion. We have a roster ready to win. Jimmy's health is the biggest issue (yes, his physical tools leave quite a bit to be desired as well), but unless Trey shows a substantial amount more than he did against the Chiefs, I do not think this team would take that deal.

If a team offers us a high pick, we should take it regardless of how well he is playing. Otherwise, we're gambling that he won't get injured and his history is not in our favor in that regard.

I doubt any team In their right mind would offer anything more than a 3rd for JG at this point.

its jimmys job unless he gets hurt in the next two weeks. its jimmys job as long as he is playing well. start jimmy. make clever use of trey. hope that leads to a great season. and then you decide what to do after the season is over. if the answer is... maybe we should rotate trey and jimmy by quarters this year,,,, then the question has to be,.. what is the dumbest thing we can do this year?

gad damn it. how the heck did 'trade Jimmy' discussion break out in the middle of scrimmage videos?

Absolutely not. If we have traded him and Lance goes down, that leaves us with a Superbowl team qb'ed by Sudfeld. I really don't imagine that Lynch has any interest in any sort of deal.

I do think this is the most valid point. It's risk assessment. But this is also why I do not think a team will offer a high pick because of the injury concerns. I also think the team would probably rather trade Jimmy during the season, or after the season, to allow Trey Area more time. But during the season gets even more complicated, however, if the team is winning, though it depends on how the team is winning.

Edit: I'll stop the trade Jimmy discussion in here! I'm just happy Jimmy is balling out, whether the team wants to trade him or not. It's good all around.
