Trey Lance's first completion with the first team is a dart over the middle for 15 yards to Deebo Samuel

Trey doesn't trust what he sees right now and seems to be double clutching with all of his short to intermediate throws. This comes down to lack of experience. The more reps he gets against NFL defenses in practice and during games, the more he'll start to trust what he sees and is more decisive. Some of Trey's completions during practice would be sacks during games. Most rookies who are mobile, when they are indecisive like this would take off running, but Kyle has Trey on a leash. The legs need to be the last resort. Kyle wants him to exhaust the play as long as protection allows.

Trey Lance's first drive with the 49ers first-team offense: A few runs, a sack, 2 completions (Samuel and Sanu).
— David Lombardi (@LombardiHimself) August 20, 2021
The drive was moving — key play was a Lance first-down run on 3rd-and-15 after the sack — but coaches had a play limit and called it around the 15-yard line
#49ers Trey Lance just took 8 consecutive reps with the first team OL

Mostly run and zone read plays but the final two plays were completions to Deebo Samuel and Mohamed Sanu.
Fred Warner forced a fumble, then broke up a pass with a hard thud on the next play. In other words, Fred Warner looks like Fred Warner in practice vs. Chargers.

Trey Lance just took eight snaps with #49ers starters: He went 3 of 3 with a shovel pass and two other short completions; sack, QB draw, zone-read run and two RB runs.

Deebo Samuel checked himself out of practice. Walking slowly back toward the sideline after getting checked out by the training staff. #49ers

Second Trey Lance drive ends in an overthrown INT, and now Lance is operating the first-team 49ers offense for an extended drive for the first time in camp

Just for housekeeping purposes: I won't be counting what I thought was a Trey Lance INT as an INT because @danielrpopper is confident that the ball hit the ground. It came during Lance's second-team work on a throw that sailed
