Kind of disappointed that the beat writers focus so much on the offense/QBs. There's a new DC in town and I wish they gave more clips/insight on what they saw from the 49er defense. The only defensive tweet were, "Fred Warner is really good". Yeah, no s**t.

Maiocco posted a video of all of the 7on7s snaps against the Chargers O. I haven't seen anything about 11on11s though.

I saw a Chargers video from yesterday with all of their good plays. Herbert and Allen were torching us.

I followed a couple Chargers beat writers for this scrimmage and they didn't post much. I want to see 1v1 Ambry/Lenoir vs KAllen. How Ebukam look? Who is playing safety opposite Ward and how did that guy look? SAM linebacker battle, is Kendricks the favorite after just being signed? Givens, Hurst, Street, with Kinlaw out who took his place?

For what it's worth I listened to the striking gold podcast this morning recapping yesterday's practice. Kyle posey said our dline looked dominate against their 1's, that a couple guys would have had multiple sacks with dee ford leading the charge, Just doesn't effect the play cause your not allowed to touch the qb. He seems like he was the only one watching the defense with everyone focused on jimmy vs lance!

Thanks. Yeah yesterday a few 49er reporters kept track of the the defensive sacks. Showed Ford on the field, had couple clips of WR vs 49er CB, showed Street 1v1. Today, nothing from the 49er defense. I get that the 49er QBs are interesting but there should be a lot of interest on how the defense looks, too.
Biggest take aways
The RG spot was a reason we lost the SB. 2 years later and the position hasn't been upgraded
Sad to say but we can't depend on Deebo's hamstrings
Only thing consistent about Jimmy is that he's inconsistent

sure would like to see some defensive stuff posted. At least if we got any sacks. Probably have to read the Chargers offensive reports to find out. I beat all 49er beat writers were watching Trey.

Trey would have gotten so much backlash for that pick six.

Im still not understanding how Jimmy gives us such a huge advantage over Trey.

My biggest problem with the way Jimmy has played so far in the camp versus Trey is the Interceptions. I think Jimmy has thrown like 3x the number of interceptions this camp. If he is going to be more turnover-prone than Trey then I am not even sure he gives us the best chance to win right now. We are a running and defense strength football team. Now to be fair to Jimmy it sounds like he has moved the chains a little more consistently than Trey but if Jimmy is going to cause way more turnovers. Then I also am not sure he gives us much of an advantage over the rookie.

INTs in practice situations are overblown.

Yes, you sometimes might throw a pass in practice you wouldn't throw in a game. That being said a lot of times how you practice is how you are going to play. You should be practicing how you want to play as a QB. Some people will say it's just practice. I am sorry but almost an interception every practice and almost 3x the Interceptions than our rookie, who has only one year of college experience in D2 is unacceptable. Especially considering one of Jimmys biggest issues has been interceptions.

if you want to make practice as some true tell of the Future, then Trey isn't the guy.

but Preseason/Practice isn't a sign of what's to come. It's just Reps

Now in the Regular season, is where you want sharp practices.. but still it's just practice

I believe both D-lines have been outclassing their opposing O-lines. I actually see our teams as pretty similar, once Lance becomes QB1. We have a talent advantage, but not by much. That's a playoff roster for sure.

Their Definitely a good up and coming team, they have some of the top positional players in the league between bosa,James, and Allen. Not surprising to hear their making just as many plays throughout the scrimmage as us.

I'm rooting for the Chargers to stomp the Chiefs and take their division.
Herbert is an star. Drafting Slater and signing Linsley will boost the awful OL they had last year.
Ekeler and Allen are stud in offense.
Their defense has Bosa, James, Chris Harris and some other underrated studs.
They are building their team the right way.

Why even practice or have preseason games if it doesn't matter? Why do teams have QB competitions during training camp if how you practice doesn't matter? While it is less important than the regular season, a practice still matters. Coaches are out there evaluating these players on their performance. You think Kyle is watching Jimmy throw an Interception every day and thinking to himself oh well it is just practice.

You are the only one that is saying it doesn't matter ...and it's not what i said.

You are making things up now with trying to know what kyle thinks. Jimmy and Kyle talk (at practice) all the time so they are at least close to being on the same page

as for evaluating.. that goes for the bubble players. Jimmy and Trey are locked in, so it all about reps
