Yup. The fan in me wants Trey to get in there and start taking his lumps. Thats our luxury.

As a coach, the smart thing to do is let Jimmy start and let nature take its course. If Jimmy continues to throw interceptions, make poor decisions, fumbles, and can't consistently push the ball downfield, and we lose games, he'll be out.

Do you think Jimmy will play that bad?

Yep. They neglected the receiver position completely. Drafted a project, a complete project at qb and two backs that are more of luxuries than needs, and a fat, slow guard instead of filling positions of need on a team that is just a piece or two away from a super bowl. I have lost faith in them. Feel more like the super bowl run was a fluke

Sounds like you should find a new team, I see you're a big fan of the Pats recent drafting, that might be the way forward.

So if Jimmy continues to throw interceptions, make poor decisions, fumbles, and can't push the ball downfield, but we win games he should remain the starter?

What people really need to accept is that Jimmy just isn't a very good QB and that the team needs to move on already. Holding on to this notion that he's suddenly going to improve and start learning from his mistakes and lead this team to a Super Bowl championship is delusional at this point. We caught lightning in a bottle in 2019 and benefited from a weak NFC and a fair bit of luck, but that's not likely going to happen again. If we're going to make it back to the Super Bowl we're going to need better QB play.

Trey might be a bit raw right now, but we'll benefit more from ripping the bandaid off now and living with the result than we will from wasting anymore time on Jimmy. Him having a couple of decent games in four seasons on an offense that is designed to work around his limitations should not inspire this level of loyalty.

I concur. Doesn't ever consider the FACT that Jimmy now has 2 very good wrs and a Center. That will help him play better even if it's the same old jimmy. He will have better pass pro and wrs that can actually get separation consistently

This is the kind of logic that marries teams to mediocre QBs for years and years. There will always be some excuse to fall back on no matter how much talent we surround him with. It's time to just move on already.
