ok,, this is off topic and thank you for your opinion as you are being difficult on purpose... kyle and jh at many times in their coaching career opted to get away from the run. from our strength at puzzling times. . what is so difficult unless you are doing it on purpose... to me.... i think running the ball is the thing we do best.... we impose our will on teams and wear them down.. i think we need to run the ball.. if they stop it.. then you do something different. where did i say that we should run when it is not working

Come on cc you know we have the best or 2nd best roster in the NFC. It's kinda amusing seeing posters pick any OTHER teams from the NFC besides the Bucs and Niners. Unless of course you're assuming our team is decimated by injuries, then I agree.

Also, posters weren't just picking the niners to be in the NFCCG after one day of TC, we we're picking them to be that good well BEFORE camp. We will murder GB like always and the Rams we can beat with a bunch of backups so........

I'm with guapo on this one - we are clearly right behind TB in the NFC. We are stacked on O and the D, I feel is formidable.

Just thought I'd ask a question to something I keep seeing...."super bowl calibre roster".

Is it, is it really?

I'm not so sure. 2019 it felt like everything pretty much went perfectly until, well, you know.

There are so so many ifs to consider.

I'm still relatively new to following the NFL/49ers and can't admit to being as clued up as many many people on here (despite some ridiculous takes and obvious trolls).

I do think there seems to be an element of thinking some players are better than they actually are because they are "ours" and the bias kicks in.
I think we will have a lot of injuries like we always do. Jimmy will get hurt like he always does. Lance will start and be like a young rookie who hasn't played a lot of football. He will struggle but make occasional spectacular plays. Most importantly he will grow and get better. I don't have really big expectations for this year at this time. I think we will be better next year and beyond. But if we just see growth and development of the young guys I consider that a big plus.

It's very hard for me to believe we beat the Rams or Seahawks at least for THIS year. But maybe. We will see. I think the expectations are way too big on the board overall to be honest. If I see growth and development and moving in the right direction for certain key guys I would be happy for this year. That's about all I expect. Anything else is just bonus.

if totally healthy and all goes well. 11 wins, we have issues along the o line. d line and secondary to make us more than 11 wins, 11 at the very best in my opinion
The schedule is soft and it's a last place schedule. That being said, I expect that we'll look good this year. And at least make it to the wildcard in the playoffs. Most of our losses will be to divisional opponents.

But I still don't see this as a championship team that will be contending in the final 4, IMO. The injury bug still looms over, and we break down too easily.

I think that Jimmy G will start most of his games, but I hope Trey at least gets some starting experience this year so we can start fresh in 2022.

Compared to 2019, we're better at C and LT, but significantly worse at DT and DE. I would say we're better at WR (Aiyuk>Sanders, Deebo is Deebo, but everything else is a ?). Probably slightly worse at TE (age), S (age). Worse at QB since Jimmy has regressed since the 2019 regular season.

I really don't understand at all when people parrot this idea that this roster is 1) loaded 2) deep. One injury to Verrett or Ward, who are extremely injury prone, and our defensive backfield turns to garbage. If Trent goes down, our passing game is f'ed. It all hangs from a thread, and there's not much young talent buried on this roster that we can expect to become stars in the next season or two.
This depend exclusively on the injuries we might have
Jimmy 3000 yards on 1000 passes
SUPER BOWL VICTORY
