Realistic expectations for the season.

If Ford and Bosa are healthy this is a top 3 defense. It won't matter who we have in the secondary because QB's will have no time to throw the ball. And the scary thing is they have both even gotten better in some areas. Ford I heard was bull rushing Chargers yestarday and that wasn't even his game. Bosa said he is quicker while keeping his strength. And then add in all the depth we have on the Dline+ add in more blitzes from the linebackers who are very deep.

After 2 Weeks of the season I might be adjusting my expectations for the season. I believe these next two weeks may decide our playoff fate. We can't afford to go 0-2 to start off division play and potentially lose valuable ground in the wild card chase. We've got to start performing to expectations..

I don't think we can win the division this year. Secondary is beat up and not deep enough and there is that lingering QB issue. Lucky to get 9 wins with Jimmy. I think defenses are too smart and can take away the few things he does well.

This is a playoff team. How far we go will depend on the run game and the secondary at this point IMO.

9-8 at best and that's with HEALTHY players..

If relatively healthy, a Wild Card, maybe a Win. I don't see us progressing too far though. Hopefully Trey Sermon or Elijah Mitchell emerge this year. Hopefully Deommodore Lenoir or Ambry Thomas emerge this year.

The injuries to Verrett and Mostert really hurt and the transitional pains we're going through now are hopefully momentary pains.

Might be able to squeak into the 7th seed and get roasted by packers/cowboys/bucs/rams

8 wins.. this is not a playoff team.. to be a playoff team you need to stop the run and run the ball. we can do neither and we have one of the worst pass defenses in the nfl,

My prediction? Keep going. Nobody knows how this thing is going to end.

Surprisingly we lead the league in the longest number of games without a 100 yard rusher allowed.

Agreed. Thinking this is a championship team is over homerism. Jimmy can't win the big game and even under Sunday night game of the week lights he had happy feet. We're projecting well for 2022 and 23. By then hopefully we will have stud CBs and more reliable ends to help Bosa. Lance should be ready and established.

Well the Rams are the best team in the division and a nightmare matchup for this pitiful 49ers secondary. It's also scary seeing Rogers throw so many floaters and have great success against us either with wide open guys or PI calls. We have to play the reigning King of the Floaters Russell Wilson twice. We play his little brother in Arizona twice.

it order for the 49ers to have a decent shot in the division against passing offenses, we have to play ball control keep away with our offense. That means try and keep other teams' offenses on the sideline as long as possible, limiting their opportunities. Just think we thought teams would fear Shanahan offenses, but it is Kyle Shanahan that has to fear other offenses nowadays. He better practice his 3 yards and a cloud of dust offensive approach, and hope Jimmy can be efficient on 3rd downs to keep drives alive, and work the clock better. If we fall two TDs behind against the Hawks or Rams, the fat lady will be singing.

I would have liked Stafford too. He at least has 5 good years left if he wants. I thought I heard a story where McVey cornered him during the off-season with another player to sway him to go to LA. I'm not sure where LA is getting the $$. Maybe next year they can't fund s full team, but they sure are aggressive.
