Looks like Jimmy will be starting week 1.

Well that's been obvious since the draft lol.

Has it?

Yes it has...

You people act like Trey played badly. 4 drops that would have been first downs. For a rookie, he played fine.

I said nothing if the sort lol. Wtf are you talking about? I agree he played fine for a rookie. Fact remains Jimmy is the starter and the FO has said so from day 1. That's not a hit on Trey, it's the obvious truth

People who think he was going to hit the ground and just play like Mahomes are living in an altered reality. The kid had promise and will be polished up. He aint ready and won't be starting anytime soon. He will be learning and he will be a great players but he ain't leading us through this season and to the super bowl this season.

He also didn't run one time tonight. That was definitely by design.

Drops didn't help with maintaining any momentum. I think he did excellent given the circumstances.

According to CNN I mean ESPN, trey struggled tonight... guess they didn't watch the game and just the stat line..

I watched the game, couldn't be rooting for him more, and have no doubt that tonight is absolutely meaningless, but also thought that he struggled tonight.

He did okay. Needs to develop more pocket awareness. He also needs more time with the receivers. Most of his passes dropped were accurate but he still has to develop that chemistry with the receivers. No argument that a few of the dropped passes were on the receivers, especially James.

He did. But that is to be expected given he has not played for 315 days and never in the NFL. He will be fine in time but the hype that he should start in game won and will lead the team to the Super Bowl is shear delusion. He will be great in time.

Instead of signing depth pieces how about getting a starting right guard.

Chris Jones has put a lot of guards on their butt, even Pro Bowl guard. He is the best power rusher in the league, Aaron Donald notwithstanding. Brunskill will be an average starting guard in the league and continue to play until Banks beats him out.
Banks will be out a week and Mitchell will miss a few weeks.

As compared to whom? Didn't think pocket awareness was his problem at all. Drops, missed blocks by the offensive line and two bad passes for a 21 year old kid in his first game.

Kyle is managing this the right way. Trey's time will come, for now it's Jimmy though.
Did anyone mention that we played an entire game and there was only minimal injuries?? Does nobody else have injury PTSD

Shhhhhhhh!
Things I learned tonight:
- Trey is a work in progress (duh ) he had some nice throws and some not so nice. He certainly wasn't helped by OL or WR.
- Richard Hightower is still terrible, yet remains employed
- Ritchie James is done
- Single-digit numbers look lame in the pros
- There was a player on the Chiefs named DiCaprio Bootle, I almost died when I heard Greg Papa announce his name

lol nice
It's kind of irritating KC may have found a steal with Trey Smith meanwhile Banks is struggling in camp.
