Good one!
WR3 - Travis Benjamin, Kevin White, Trent Sherfield, Mohamed Sanu, Richie James, River Cracraft & Nsimba Webster, Jalen Hurd, Jauan Jennings & Austin Watkins
SAM Linebacker - Azeez Al-Shaair, Marcell Harris, Justin Hilliard, James Burgess, Jonas Griffith, Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles & Elijah Sullivan
Right Guard - Colton McKivitz, Tom Compton, Isaiah Williams, Daniel Brunskill, Jake Brendel, Aaron Banks, Dakoda Shepley & Corbin Kaufusi
TE2 - Charlie Woerner, Ross Dwelley, MyCole Pruitt, Jordan Matthews & Joshua Perkins
RB3 - Wayne Gallman, Elijah Mitchell & JaMycal Hasty
WR3 and TE2 will be sharing snaps from the slot I'd imagine. SAM is a very important role given the hybrid ability can keep him on the field. RB3 will certainly get snaps.
But it's gotta be RG given that's a 1K snap position up for grabs and the challenges we had with the A gap last year.

Thanks for listing all the players with their names in the mix. I had forgotten to mention guys like Hurd, MHarris, McKivitz, etc that have a shot. I voted RG but I do think WR3 is a close second and is a very important position that will influence how things play out when they are in 11 personnel.

I had to go with SAM. Think the other position battles are pretty evenly matched and however they turn out we have a solid starter with backup in the wings. The SAM is undecided in my mind right now and I am watching to see if Ebukam gets some snaps there like he did in LA

LAR last season did a lot of 3-4 stuff with five on the line of scrimmage so Samson played like a 3-4 OLB. In SF, all the LBs are off the ball in the wide9 scheme (4 man front) so I doubt Samson will be in the mix for SAM. As far as I know he has no experience being an off the ball LB.

The RG is the most intriguing and important since it's an actually starting job. Brunskill is a pretty solid option but the expectation is for Banks to eventually take over, as Brunskill is more the wildcard backup who can literally play any position in case of need.

Is there really a competition for TE2? I would think Dwelley would have that on Lock. I would think the competition is for TE3

This, plus WR3 will have impact without injury.

Good point about the 3-4 system.

WR3 we got some good players in the mix. Im interested in seeing how Hurd and Jennings play in the preseason, add to that the emergence of sherfield.

RG all day long. It was a turnstile last year. We need Banks to win that job so Brunskill can step in for McWiff when he gets cratered. We have to keep JG/TL upright.

RB is an intriguing competition; I actually think we see Jamycal Hasty as an LA Ram when it's all said am done. They are short RB's , he's a great system fit an gonna be hard for him to make the team. We may even get a conditional 7th for him
