Hurd and the Michigan DE who I don't want to try and spell his name.
He had the skills before the injuries, sucks he hasn't panned out so far. He's a 6'5 version of Deebo and could fill the big slot role/sweep RB/TE/4wide1TE and put him in the backfield… thought he was the ultimate Shanahan toy.
Oh well, would still draft him again. That upside is just too hard to ignore in the 3rd and injuries are injuries… durable guys in college become Mr Glass in the NFL and the glass guys in college can sometimes become durable AF in the NFL, Gore being a good example.

I had to go back and find my mock: Connor McGovern, who ended up picked at 90 (Hurd was 67). McGovern has mostly been a backup OG for the Cowboys.

The goal of this thread was to show zoners even with the ability to go into a time machine and go back, it would be hard to make that pick in 2019. My OG draft crush had one good season, Winovich peaked early and now is in Bellicheks doghouse. The draft is a crap shoot, I think with Hurd they went for the boom or bust pick. We are getting to the dumb and dumber scene where they need to tell Hurd you have a 1 and a million chance, and he smiles and loves his odds.

Chase Winovich, because you can never have to many pass rushers
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson because we have needed corners for years

I still don't understand what happened with Butler, or why we never signed him just to see if he was any good.
Miles Boykin hasn't looked a whole lot better, but between Hurd, Butler and Boykin, I think Boykin is the best one.
The correct answer, of course, is Terry McLaurin, but I'd be lying if I said I saw that coming.
I remember hearing that McLaurin was pro ready in college and was a pros pro according to may scouting reports. But his college stats left a lot to be desired. He was 3rd on his team in receiving yards and 4th in receptions. I personally thought he was overrated in the draft process.
Guess thats 1 of many reasons im not a scout.

CGJ was one I really wanted as well...but I'll be honest I'm pretty sure I was hoping for Hakeem Butler as well. Though I didn't really want us to double up on WR so CGJ was more preferred at the time. Hurd was the first pick at the time that I had to figure out as to why.
