It's for this exact reason that you need a Lance. To cancel out/score with an Allen/Mahommes etc. Jimmy isn't bad at all but Trey is special

Well... that's why Kyle and John went all in on Lance and gave up all that capital.

Although Kyle pisses me off of how he used Lance early on, he wanted Lance for a reason. And Jimmy's play was part of that reason, even if some don't want to accept it.

Kyle and John have been transparent. Jimmy's availability or lack there of was the biggest factor. Jimmy would've already been sent packing if it were just about his play.

Yeah, and Kyle said Jimmy's availability affected his development, implying he currently isn't where Shanahan wanted him to be.

yeah and that goes back to my point about Jimmy having less than 1000 attempts.

But it's not just attempts. It gets harder to learn new tricks the older you get.

What Jimmy can improve: accuracy; decision making; mechanics on deep passes.

What Jimmy very likely can't improve: field vision.

The latter one is going to prevent him from ever being what Lance can be, and that's not even getting into Lance's arm and legs. Lance is young enough that he can still fairly easily develop much better field vision. Jimmy is too old to do so (very rarely do QBs that age improve that). Mechanics are also tough to fix at that age, but easier than field vision. Do you believe that Jimmy is going to improve his deep mechanics, when his upper body only throws are part of why he can throw short from so many arm angles? I do not. Nor do I think his accuracy is going to improve too much.
