It sounds like this wa sa sloppy game. That's one of the concerns I have with playing 3 pre season games and barely playing the starters. I won't be surprised if some teams just aren't ready for the opener. KC plays their regulars a little more as do some other teams. The Niners starters have barely seen the field. I know they worry about injuries but you can't keep these guys wrapped in bubble wrap forever.

Once the season starts it's full steam ahead for the starters.

I have no problem with bubble wrapped Bosa, Kittle, Williams, Verrett and Warner.

Yeah, he's getting a rep for not catching the tough passes.

Game takes
Jimmy will get his receivers killed with those high throws like the one Woerner had to jump to bring down
The receivers must wash the butter from their hands
Lance throws rockets sometimes with too much power.
Lance was trying to impress with more big plays. Once he calmed and settled down, he was able to perform.
The DL is absolutely elite at every level.
The OL played better, I have to rewatch film to give an individual evaluation.
As usual lots of penalties in preseason, sloppy game.
I thought our OL depth was bad, the Chargers have a much worse situation.
That 4th quarter between Sudfield and Chase Daniels was brutal.

So you completely ignore Trey's int was high and behind the receiver. What the difference between Jimmy and Trey? Trey's high balls wouldn't get a receiver killed?
My takes:
  • Extremely tired of seeing Arik Armstead at DE. Srsly, he's very bad there. I hope they figure out a way to keep him inside. He's a liability at DE.
  • WRs drops aren't concerning me yet. Seems more mental lapses than anything else. They should know to be locked in and focused come Game 1.
  • I'm comfortable with Jimmy. He's been efficient and commands the offense. Don't really care too much about the drops/deflected INT. If he stays healthy, we'll be cruising. I don't expect him to magically become all world, but this team is so stacked, he can guide us to another SB. I don't like using the "game manager" label.
  • Trey is progressing. I feel like KS is telling him not to run yet. He just needs time. Same thought with the drops above. Its PreS so maybe they're not fully locked in and not used to his velocity, but he's not even throwing it that hard. Depending on his progress, unless Jimmy is playing lights out, I wouldn't be surprised if he takes over after the bye. Also wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy plays just well enough to keep him on the bench and just in on special packages. Esp late and in the playoffs.
  • DL depth looks great. We'll prob have tough cuts that will quickly get picked up by another squad. Excited to see the starters mixed in.
  • CB depth not as concerning as before. Lenoir and Ambry seem to get better as they get more reps. Prior to today, I would have been very worried about even 1 injury to JV, Eman, or Kwaun.
  • Gallman and Hasty impress me. Mitchell may be the odd man out and try to get stashed on Practice Squad.
