It's disappointing how "raw"/bad Trey has looked. Even 49er fans/writers who have extreme bias are saying how bad he is in practice.

Considering that all we heard about from Shanny and his guys are how smart, special, hard working, humble, <insert superlative here> he was you would hope he would be further along.

Was it really wise to drafted 3 first round picks for a kid who was barely recruited, played at a s**tty school against zero competition as a freshman and hasn't played in a year?

Who exactly has said this?
Love the post. Reminds of when Mad Dog use to give his breakdowns post games. Really miss those.

They've been saying the opposite of what you've just posted actually. Good try though.
While I appreciate the thread, some captain obvious that I could have come up with without attending camp

1. If ANY of the starters goes down on OL, we are screwed... check we know that
2. If the pass rush is not there our DB's will struggle, check we know that from last season
3. Trey Lance is raw- check
4. Jimmy Garrapolo is more ready to start- check and one would hope so he is a vet
5. Brandon Ayuk best WR on field- check and with Samuel hurt again one would hope he is the best WR on the field.
great post!

  1. Be thankful we have Jimmy G. I am a Trey Fan and think he will be fine but after watching him up close for two days, he is RAW. Has all the tools absolutely no doubt but he just isn't at the football maturity level that Jimmy is currently.
  2. Jimmy might just have a year. Jimmy looked good the only knock is that when Jimmy throws an INT it goes to the house. James took him coast to coast from the goal line on an INT in the flat.
  3. Best QB on the field plays for the Chargers , Justin Herbert is the real deal
  4. Sherfield is Fast , Big and productive .......he is found money !
  5. Dee Ford looks big and a little stiff but still can get around the corner and was consistently putting pressure.
  6. Samson Ebukam is a fast disruptive force on the outside he will put pressure on a defense if a health Nick Bosa or Dee Ford are on the other.
  7. Back up offensive line is just that...... OFFENSIVE
  8. Grant Cohn's Good Not So Good . Should be Fact , Not so Facts ....... Dude plays a little loose with reality. I say that and I read his stuff and am kind od a fan
  9. Our D Line is deep and it better get after the QB because the Secondary will only be as good as the rush and it could be SPECIAL.
  10. Our Linebackers are also going to ball , I think we can have a 2019 like Defense if healthy. Parts are there
  11. Jordan Mathews is an underdog but he could be a match up problem against linebackers. I would love to see him make the team
  12. Jamycal Hasty is an exciting player to watch , runs hard and could be productive. He is another player I would like to see make the team
  13. Rookie Corners are playing hard adjusting to the big leagues and are holding thier own, not perfect but signs of life. Deommodore is slightly ahead of Thomas IMO
  14. Brandon Aiyuk is the best reciever on the field for the Niners
  15. Lastly, If the niners have O line injuries the season could be a s**T show. If we can stay healthy we can play with anyone and I wont be surprised if Jimmy G plays the whole season ( barring injury ).

Go Niners !!!!!!!

Great post. This was the same way I felt when I saw Trey at the Levi's training camp. You can see the potential but he looked a little slow with everything. What you would expect from a rookie. Jimmy ran all the drills with quick and decisive control. People need to understand that it's not just about throwing the ball deep. The QB runs the show and in person you can see the difference between the two. Lance will get there.

It was wise and the right move no question about it. Period.

Yeah, nice try, no one is saying those things outside of maybe Cohn, but no one should take anything he says seriously. Just because he looks raw, doesn't mean he's been a disappointment, look at that 80yd TD to Sherfield, he's gonna be a stud in 2022, needs 1yr to fully learn the system, he'll get time at QB on designed plays, but unlike with Taysom Hill, who you know will run, cause his arm is weak, you won't know what Trey will do, he has legs & arm.
