Yes, you can still contract the virus if vaxed and test positive. The wait time to return is shorter, though. Players can indeed still miss games due to covid. It will be an issue again this season.

This is why Arians said the Bucs are still on lockdown in the hotel for away games.

Yeah, there's a general misunderstanding of how the Pfizer and moderna vaccines work. They're spike protein vaccinations that don't create T-Cell immunity. Think of it this way, Polio vaccines turn every body that takes them into a virus killing machine. What we've given out reduces risk of contraction but doesn't stimulate the body to become a virus killing machine. This is why transmission and infection can still occur with our vaccines. They did it this way to expediate the vaccine.

There's also a problem with how they're dosing people. Think about your kids, they get vaccines at 3 month intervals. These are 2 weeks. The medical community has known for a really long time that the longer the span is between the 1st and 2nd dose, the more robust the immunity. Again, it's done in a way to expediate vaccinations. Really, everyone should be taking 3 months in between the 1st shot and the booster. That's what I'm doing.
