We are definitely running a 2 headed creature at QB this season

You don't need it in this offense either, look at Alfred Morris coming out of college. There's room for both speed demons like Mostert and more physical, agility-based runners like Sermon.

Agreed, he's got great contact balance and good explosiveness. Great hands too.

I liked the Hunt comps for him. See a lot of the same stuff.

RB room is looking real nice
Sermon looked nice today. No injuries is a blessing. Let's get ready to roll Detriot
ambry and flanigan looked horrible on their TD
Is it true the Raiders couldn't afford to fly the whole team over so they only came with half? lol

I don't think it was that they couldn't afford it, but they didn't want to bring the whole team.

Mechanical issues aren't genetic. It's fixable. Especially for someone as athletic, smart, and dedicated as Lance.

Why do people act like every non-physical trait is acquirable? Otherwise, Peterman and Mullens could be Broncos Peyton Manning.

Because the difference is computing speed and being calm under pressure. Great mechanics is a discipline, not a God given ability. Lance has the mental and emotional makeup to be great, and with his athletic ability that means the sky is the limit.

that would be pretty sad. Plane tickets to Vegas are only $100

Gruden only wanted half the team to be embarrassed. The half that played, lost the coin toss.

Hasty is why I thought it was ridiculous taking Sermon in the 3rd. Mitchell was great where we got him.

It's pre season. I'm still not sold on hasty yet... Most running backs look decent at this time.

Not Sermon

I know not Sermon right? Who needs a running back that can break tackles and power ahead. You've got to be kidding me. But then again your takes on Mac "I pass for 6 yards per attempt" Jones and Trey Lance have been laughable at best

They've been spot on so far. I bashed on Lance, Sermon, and the blimp guard from ND, they've all looked bad or either been hurt. And Mac has looked extremely poised in the pocket and comfortable running the Patriots O.
Furthermore, I stated I liked the Hufanga and Mitchell picks and they've flashed.

You do realize Lance has had 10 DROPS!!!! so by that metric alone, he has looked great. Maybe you haven't watched any of the games so far so I can understand how you would come to that conclusion. If you have watched the games..... enough said

Kyle's best cal of the day was pulling Trey Lance out and then running a QB sneak with Jimmy shortly after.

This scheme, with both of them playing, is gonna be so tough to plan for. Trey needs to get at least ten to fifteen plays so the threat is real, and teams fully have to prepare. Jimmy can execute as he does, and Trey can still throw the ball well enough, so teams can't clue on when he's there. And Shanahan is still willing to sneak Jimmy, so there's no guarantee there won't be a QB run with Jimmy in. And maybe with Jimmy sharing a quarter or so of his snaps, he won't get so comfortable he throws a boneheaded INT.

Looks like this could actually work.

Yes it was Kyle's best call of the day, altho that 1st qtr he just screwed with all the DCs in our next 17 games. He had the time of his life out there, screwing with Gruden, screwing with the Raids, but mainly, laying out the fact we have two top notch QBs and you better prepare for both when you play the 9ers.

Also the worst downside play of the day…when Jimmy lowered his helmet and head butted two guys both twice his size. Unlike in the SB, he didn't come out and look like he was in Pluto somewhere, but he was damn lucky. That non-slide-helmet-first TD looked like instant concussion. Thank God it wasn't.

Overall tho, Kyle showed why he did the rapid-change-O of QBs in practice a couple days back. I posted he was screwing with upcoming DCs and HCs, but never dreamt he would actually take this for a spin in the last PS game. Between guys dropping passes and Trey's fastball from 3 yards…or 15-20, (it didn't matter the distance), the kid has got to , got to , slow it down. He gets excited and here comes the 90 mph fastball. No question tho, a pile of drops. Disappointing, but then again, Trey has to take some mustard off the hot dog.

Whether Kyle shifts QBs every other play or not (doubtful)…he has put the NFL on notice. You don't prepare for both our boys…and you will pay. Doesn't matter if he does it again or not. He has now officially put the fear of 2 QBs in the heads of opponents.

I think it does matter on the grounds that the overwhelming majority of prep time in the NFL goes to what teams have done in the last few weeks.
Benjamin suffered a concussion. I wonder if that hurts his chances.
