I'm guessing that opening drive was probably the visionary script that Shanahan created on the airplane on his flight back from Lance's pro day.

Hope not, cause Hurd didn't look too good.
JL is really good at just prior to cuts, he pawns off some guys (DLs and RBs this yr) just prior to cuts for picks next yr. Teams that just have to have a RB or more likely STARTER DLs, will be willing to give a late pick for a GTD DL. And right now it looks like he's got a passel of them…certainly at least 3-4. If a team doesn't want to wait for waiver wire, they can be GTD a starter DL…

just watch. JL will have the phone lines burning up….of course, first he and kyle have to decide which likely starter DLs we can part with. Truly…I'd like to keep 'em all. But JL can squeeze some picks from teams that are in desperate need and can't take the chance any of these guys will already be gone if he/they don't deal with JohnL prior to cuts.

Wish having short kickoffs but they have yet to make it to the 25. Great coverage.

That's by intent. Almost every KO went to the 1 or 2 yd line and none made it to the 25. Most were not over the 20. BTW, Raids did the same thing on KOs…at least a couple of them.

Benjamin hasn't done much either, just sayin. He's here as a speedster and hasn't exactly impressed in that way. And he's definitely not a blocker as he showed today. Unless there have been plays in practice when the beat writers are gone, people are just living on his resume.

Personally I was hoping Benjamin would have a Sherfield type of camp and we'd have that one good year Goodwin guy. But if he can't track star a seem down the field
he's not very good.

I remember reading on the Athletic that a scout had described Lance as Jordan Love but with even less seasoning….

That's a lot more accurate than the endless John Elway and Pat Mahomes comparisons. Dude needs to sit, watch and throw a s**tload of passes on his own, be like Kobe launching up hundreds of jump shots a day.

I think PHX gets post of the day. "Throw a s-load of passes on his own, be like KOBE, launching up hundreds of jump shots a day"

that sounds like the answer for Trey. And Kobe did that EVERYDAY…not just sometimes. Good advice for Trey.

I think our DE's are safe because the injury concerns are all on that part of the line. Especially with Ford. It will be a DT that JL tries to trade. I am going to predict that Givens gets traded.

Kyle's best cal of the day was pulling Trey Lance out and then running a QB sneak with Jimmy shortly after.

This scheme, with both of them playing, is gonna be so tough to plan for. Trey needs to get at least ten to fifteen plays so the threat is real, and teams fully have to prepare. Jimmy can execute as he does, and Trey can still throw the ball well enough, so teams can't clue on when he's there. And Shanahan is still willing to sneak Jimmy, so there's no guarantee there won't be a QB run with Jimmy in. And maybe with Jimmy sharing a quarter or so of his snaps, he won't get so comfortable he throws a boneheaded INT.

Looks like this could actually work.

what QB sneak?

Was inside the 5 and it was a quick count.

no wonder i missed it. it was that sneaky.
It's gonna be a loooooooong two weeks
There was a lot to like about that game even though the Raiders were mostly playing there two's and three's I guess. Still, Kerr looked like he could be a valuable contributor on the D-line. Hurd had some touches and didn't need to be carted off the field, so that's a plus, though he seemed somewhat less dynamic and explosive than he did in his rookie season. But that was a long time ago so I may just be remembering it wrong.

There's going to be some things to figure out at LB as well as most of the back-ups seemed to have their moments

It will be a tough call between Hasty and Gallman. Hasty looked better at the start but Gallman came on a bit at the end and supposedly is the better player in pass protection. I think I'll be rooting for Hasty though. Maybe Mitchell becomes the odd man out there in which case it would be Mostert, Sermon, Gallman and Hasty.

Hard to get a fix on some of the receivers though, like Jennings. One of the announcers said that Lance led the pre-season in dropped passes which I suspect is more about his delivery than the receivers. Still there were some passes out there that definitely should have been caught. If I had to call it right now I would probably go with Aiyuk, Samuels, Sherfield, Jennings, Hurd, and Webster with Sanu being the wild card that could change things up. All and all a nice way to wrap up the pre-season.
Go Niners!

I think Givens stays, he's young and explosive. I could see Street getting traded.
I listened to the game on XM driving home from taking the kid to MSU.

It was hysterical listening to the announcers trying to keep up with which QB was in & what might be happening next.
