The 49ers release Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Also expected — Tavon Wilson was with the team for a longer period of time and is likely the high-floor safety depth they're more comfortable with.

Per source, CB Alexander Myres will be waived and is another prime candidate for the practice squad. He was a late add who looked good at NCB and, on Sunday, outside cornerback.

Aiyuk should be the punt returner

No. Aiyuk should not be our kick returner. Too much risk. I think it's mitchell.

Looks like Aiyuk may be primed for the main punt returner spot which I hate. I hate exposing our number 1 receiver to even more hits.

Aiyuk and Sanu are gonna be the primary PR with Elijah Mitchell at KR.
Sanu is too old and slow to be a PR now.
You might be thinking of Travis Benjamin who did it in prior years and was good.
They're the same age and Benjamin has lost some speed.

Has he ever returned a punt in his life?

Does this mean Jennings makes the team?

Yes pretty much. Only way he doesn't is if Kyle only goes with 5 WR's. Or he picks up a WR off waivers.

Especially for the fact that our receiver depths are very questionable. I am not sure we can count in any of our backup receivers to get the job done if needed. We started the 2019 season thinking we have too many qualify WRs, end up with only Deebo showed up and we had to trade for E Sanders.
Perhaps Sherfield and Sanu are ok, but I am not sure.

I'd rather Jennings than Benjamin.

Per source, team has released TE Jordan Matthews. He's also a practice squad possibility.

Ambry Thomas was a returner in college. And Mitchell will also probally return some kicks. I think it will be a by committee approach.
