Why? He's not a rookie, it's business for him. He's a seasoned washed up vet
Cause the guys still unemployed with a week to go before the season. He's been known to have a bad attitude and you'd think he'd be a little more enthused to be employed again, especially by a contender and not having to dance to make money.
how do you know he is washed up. who cares what he did in the past. this was a wise much needed signing given jasons injuries in camp. and our depth are a bunch of kids
I agree it's a much needed signing, happy we did it. Never said he was washed up, hoping he can bring something to the team like Harris did years again and Sherman did recently. TW can also keep him in check if needed. Just expect a little more enthusiasm when you're unemployed and a great team wants to add you.

With our pass rush he could ball out in press situations.

Because he wasn't the same player once he got that big contract, and that was 6 years ago.

Watching that video of him finding out mid interview makes me think his heart isn't really that into it. He was all excited talking about his post career business idea, and then the call came in and he was like "yeah. lets do it. talk to you later." Like when you're not really feeling a job anymore, but the pay is too good to turn down. He didn't seem excited to get picked up. It felt like he was kind of hoping he wouldn't so he could move on.
Yeah he definitely didn't seem all that excited but he has been working out hard
If he's not gonna be all in then I see a mid-season release.
No need to keep that kind of attitude in the locker room.

You could have told me it was the last 20 seconds so I didn't have to sit through that trash

Am I the only one who thinks having Sherman on the team provides a lot more to the team than only his play on the field?

Like someone else said earlier in this thread. He has more important things he needs to focus on right now.

With Clinton-Dix and Norman in our secondary, I hope this adds a degree of veteran leadership to mold some continuity. The intangibles! These two were top players up until a couple seasons ago.

Clinton-Dix was released and not re-signed.

Josh Norman is a zoner corner. Not sure how well he fits in this scheme if Demeco Ryan wants to be more aggressive with his secondary. Dude is a liability in man coverage.

better than Dontae Johnson even though he is old and washed up.
But I'll bet that the Niners wanted Richard Sherman instead. What a tool. All he had to do was lay low and stay out of trouble.

Having Norman will give the veteran presence that's so important with a young CB corps. Like Sherman, he's not the player he once was, but with our front 7 poised for a great season, he doesn't have to be. I like the signing...he'll also bring some swagger to the DB's.
