Yeah I watched some bills games and nah there's not much to this signing…he's "better" in zone and from what I've read and the guys we have, I thought the plan was to play more man.

I would've agreed with you however in 6 of the last 7 years he's been graded top 50? That's a lot to discredit. It's not like you're going off of one year only. Also, I wasn't saying he was a good player just because of that one site and their grades. You might want to consider the defense he has in front of him before considering him washed up. Hopefully he won't ever have to play for us but that's just wishful thinking

Facts

Thats all nice but if jason has a bad foot and is suspect to play. this does you no good., it should scare you guys behind jason. we got kids as back ups.... we also got rid of some trash.. you people are funny.., most of you did not want sherman cuz he was a seahawk. he was a cancer and whatever else, we had a need here. especially with the reports that jason may have a bad foot,. when will you people realize it does not matter what they did in another uniform. as someone mentioned. getting rid of a terrible corner is worth it alone. good signing, it is also a sign that jason may not be counted on

Not feeling his attitude already on that call. He should be ecstatic he's coming here and has an opportunity to be part of this team.

And the agent said "Hey Josh, we have the 49ers where we want them". Ummm, I think the 9ers are the one's in control and you need them more than we need Norman.haha

Why? He's not a rookie, it's business for him. He's a seasoned washed up vet

Cause the guys still unemployed with a week to go before the season. He's been known to have a bad attitude and you'd think he'd be a little more enthused to be employed again, especially by a contender and not having to dance to make money.

how do you know he is washed up. who cares what he did in the past. this was a wise much needed signing given jasons injuries in camp. and our depth are a bunch of kids

Because he wasn't the same player once he got that big contract, and that was 6 years ago.

I think he means he wasn't the same from big contract forward, not like a Haynesworth bad but a big decline. He had that 1 great year here in Carolina and got a huge payday by the Skins after Carolina was gonna extend him but a few hours later rescinded the offer and I think Carolina rescinded and cut him the same day. Anyway that 1 special year was probably due more to the system so hopefully he can contribute a lot of positives this year with the 49ers.
Saw a video of him at practice today. Looks slimmer than he did last season

This ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👏👏👏👏👏💪
No harm in giving him a go. Hopefully JV is fine and Norman is just some decent depth that will push Moseley to be better.

And it's not like Dontae won't somehow find his way back onto the roster at some point. When it comes to certainties he's giving death and taxes a run for their money.

He had some good and bad moments from what I've been looking up on YouTube. And he's definitely an upgrade over Dontae Johnson.

I'll be surprised if we play more man. That's kind of fixing something that isn't broken. We already played a good % of man to mix up looks. 3rd down we played a lot of quick matching zones while presenting overload blitzes. That forces OL slides. We would then utilize matching zone drops to take away hots while trying to blitz uncovered rushers.

Then, when we'd have straight 4-man rushes we play a lot of zone to force qb's to either take short passes short of the 1st down or hope their pass pro holds up vs Bosa/Kinlaw/AA/Ford for 3+ seconds.

Just watched the video...think that was taken out of context.

To me he wasn't saying "we have the 49ers at our mercy"

He started by saying "you've been very particular about what you want"

To me he was saying SF fits what you want in a team...he immediately mentions a good D and team ready to compete and win now that were on Josh Norman's "want" list
He was signed a week before the season so to expect him to be any sort of huge impact is a bit much. He's a veteran presence that can be plugged in when need be.

Uncle Sherm is done.

Norman was actually decent last year and should provide competition for the #2 CB.
