It will be extra challenging now that Verrett is done and Mosely is still questionable. Lenoir seems like he has some upside and Williams is always steady but beyond that there doesn't seem to be much to write home about. Maybe Thomas will find his groove. Hopefully Kinlaw will be back to shore up the middle of the run defense and Bosa and Ford will be able to keep that QB from getting around the edge. Should be a good test of what the Niners can do without their top corners in play.
I don't know if mobile QBs have so much given us fits as we simply haven't been able to abuse them like we have the pocket passers.
there is a certain give and take with mobile QBs. Some because of their mobility hold the ball longer because they're able to avoid rushers and make plays down the field but that also opens them up for more sacks or running into sacks. Flip side is pass rushers have to be more cautious rushing them understanding if they lose contain and don't wrap them up those QBs can gash them on the ground.
This game is going to be an interesting barometer for where our season is headed. If we cannot beat the Eagles it's going to be a tough ask to beat the NFC West teams who are built similarly with good WRs, solid TEs and either mobile QBs or big arms.
Honestly I'm not sure what team we have right now because of Kinlaw and Moseley possibly being out and having some others banged up and losing Mostert and Verrett.
Haven't had a chance to watch the week 1 Eagles game yet but from what I read a lot of their offense was get the ball out quick and let WRs make plays. If they go with a
similar game plan our pass rush may not have a chance to get there but it also helps cover up our issues in the secondary so tackling has to be on point.
On offense we'll need to score points but the Eagles DL is a hell of a lot tougher than what the Lions put out there so everyone better be on their A game. Can't have mistakes in this one.
