They remind me of the Cardinals in that we're the more talented team but their strengths match up so well with our weaknesses so these games are always a toss up and come down to the very end.

49ers played a lot of cover3 vs DET. With the Eagles spreading things out and throwing a bunch of WR screens, Cover3 is not the way to go. I predict Ryan's' will go with more Quarters based coverages to help combat the PHI spread, similar to how the 49ers have played against ARI the past couple seasons. You combat the spread by also going with the spread (split safeties).

When it comes to shoring up the run defense, they need to play better assignment football along with stop giving Kerr snaps.

This will be a fun game to see how DeMeco Ryans plays this. I look forward to yours and JD's thoughts. It's gotta be a very different game plan from week 1.

I will be. Where the tailgates at

I'll be there. Hitting the road when i get off work

Me too i'm driving up to Jersey after work today. Do you know of any Niner tailgates?

Nope. My good friend is an Eagles fans. We driving up from DC. I'm tailgating with the enemy

That's funny im driving up from DC as well. Going to the game with my friend who is an Eagles fan. This 95 traffic will be fun.

Anyways i'll message you if I find anything. I'll probably end up tailgating with the enemy as well.

John Chapman @JL_Chapman on Twitter has rented out a bar for a 9er takeover; hotels too.

Thanks NC I will check it out
Just found out the game will be on Fox in Northern VA thanks to WFT playing on Thursday.
This is the kind of scheme you use when your pass protection is garbage. But his pass protection isn't garbage.

Keys to winning:

1. Ebukam for AA d/t Hurts. AA inside d/t no Kinlaw
2. Ebukam, AA, Ford and Key, hold the rushes wide with patience. Send LB/S/CB's from the edges to force Hurts into the wide delayed rush. Delayed middle blitzes by Warner. Saleh did this perfectly against Wilson last year.
3. CB's are going to have to play tighter d/t the short passing game.
4. S's and LB's are going to have to play patient and disciplined.
5. DL will have to hold. Their OL absolutely owned the LOS against ATL.
6. Jimmy and the offense will need long sustaining drives that eat clock and score TD's.
7. Hightower better be ready for punt rushes and tight punt/kickoff coverages.
8. With Greenlaw out and Azeez in, we might see more nickel and an extra DB instead of that SAM (Marcell Harris)

This is going to be interesting. They did a ton of underneath stuff. Can't just give them 10 yard cushions. Time for Lenior and Thomas to get there feet wet. Probably see a good amount of Norman

Yeah. This could be another shootout, especially If we see Dontae out there again giving up chunks of yardage.

I went to his twitter and didn't see anything about a bar being rented out. I'll dig deeper

There pass pro isn't garbage, but it isn't great either and it is getting very old. I think the change in philosophy is at least in part to protect the health of the right side of that line and also to keep the game simple for Hurts. When he has been asked to hold the ball for longer developing stuff last year the results were not spectacular.

i saw the week 1 eagles film and eagles OL completely manhandled clean pocket and push every snap almost

i do agree though that falcons pass rush is garbage but based on week 1 i cant come to that conclusion

They are having a 49ers party at Drinkers Pub on Saturday from 6-9pm. I planned on asking about tailgates there.

Same, I'm going with my buddy who grew up in Philly. I don't know the layout of Philly too well so its nice to have a tour guide when dealing with those wild a** fans.

Allot of it comes down to Bosa vs their giant LT. On the other side I really like Ebukam for this game... not necessarily for his pass rush but for his containment. He's all effort and fast, so when JH starts to run around Eb will be on his heels all game even if he doesnt win the rush off the snap. Or on WR screens to his side where the WR has to wait for his blockers, I can see Eb blowing those up as well while the blockers are trying to track Warner and the DB.

Doesn't look like Mosley will play. I'm hoping we go Lenor and Norman as starters. I don't want to see DJ out there. Think Thomas should be primary backup to our starters then DJ after that.
Deebo, Aiyuk, Sherfield

We finally have a legit WR group. Can't wait!!!
