Hurts is still a young QB. Just need to figure out how to confuse him out there and to take advantage of the mistakes he may make.

And to be honest, I'm more confident in the running game and play action game anyway. I think the game is another OVER bet, with us winning.
maybe 30-28 or something.

This game seems like a toss up!
It all comes down to the defense, if it remains spotty, it'll be the first L.

I think if we can stay healthy we will put up 30+ on them while making it a shootout. I like our chances if this turns into a high scoring game.

a seasons's worth? Hurts has only started 5 games and only 1 in this completely new Eagles offense.

this game kinda reminds me of the bengals game in '19. the bengals nearly beat the seahawks and people were hyping them up, then we stomped em. The end of a back to back east coast trip, etc. Hope the results are the same.

I'm not surprised that the Lions were able to mount a little comeback. They are a new team, and Campbell obviously has them motivated to not quit. They definitely showed some heart. Its also Week 1 and the coaching advantage is taken away as many have mentioned not being able to scout or have film on a new team/staff. in a few weeks when the cream can rise to the top, lets see if they continue to fight the same way. I suspect the Lions will be the rebuilding squad we thought they were.
That said, looking ahead to the Eagles, Falcons were able to have a decent running game against them. I fully expect the 49ers to have > 160 yd rushing.
Hurts is mobile, and the 49ers of past have always had trouble with that, esp last year. We also didn't have Bosa and Ford last yr. Watching AA constantly lose contain was maddening. I still need to rewatch the Lions game to see how AA was used, but I'm really hoping they move him inside on passing downs. Having Bosa, Ford or Ebukam collapse the edge, will funnel the QB right into the teeth of our defense. This is where AA and Street can get on the stat board.
Dont be surprised if this is a boring game. ie. ball control, shortening the game, and just trying to make sure we get out of this road trip healthy. Sucks to say we're already thinking about this in week 2.

You might have a point about Winston. But, for the first time, he finally has a coach that knows how to work with quarterbacks. Let's keep that in mind. Remember that Sean Payton took a chance on Drew Brees when no other team would touch him. It's a decision that ultimately lead to one Super Bowl Championship.
My point is that Payton has proved himself to be a pretty good coach when it comes to working with talented QB's who failed to cut it elsewhere for one reason or another. If Winston is still a promising player, Payton will bring that out of him. This could be another gold mine of opportunity for him.
Bruce Arians and his previous coach were also "QB whisperers" that couldn't do a thing with Jameis.
Week 1 is week 1.

In 2017 when we were rebuilding, we gave teams fits as well. But ultimately, the superior talent and years running the same scheme won out in the end. No difference with the Lions.
