Yep

No real harm in bringing him in for essentially a tryout. If they like Johnson more they can promote him from the practice squad and cut Cannon.
another Slim Jim for a RB??

WHO?????

Overview

Tremendously explosive change-of-pace runner who will need to live in the cafeteria and the weight room early on to help build his frame up to NFL standards. Cannon has juice for days and that big-play ability in space will be very appealing to teams as a likely undrafted free agent. Cannon can catch it and has a history of handling kick return duties when needed so that may be enough to help him find a practice squad this season.

Strengths
Explosive athlete with breakaway potential. Posted 38.5-inch vertical leap and 10-foot-9 broad jump. Ran 4.40-second 40-yard dash with electrifying 1.49 10-yard split. Gets to top gear immediately to pull away from defenders when racing around the corner. Loose hips with lateral agility to make sharp, late cuts to avoid tacklers who are on top of him. Homerun ability with 35 rushing touchdowns over the last two seasons. Offers special teams potential with three kick returns for touchdowns during career.

Weaknesses
Smallish back at just 185 pounds. Lacks frame for anything more than a change-of-pace role. Unable to push through contact to break tackles and add to his yardage after contact. Will get too far along into the run and ends up limiting his backside options.

Our very own Matt Breida?
At this point nobody should be questioning our ability to grab a RB and make him look productive.

I was just about to post something extremely similar!

Kyle is about .900 when it comes to RB's, maybe less factoring in Tevin Coleman, McKinnon was injury related but Joe Williams hurts.

He can play ST in guess. Hopefully a fit for our scheme. Interesting that he couldn't stick with the Ravens who lost what their top 2-3 RBs in the past week ?
Saw him play Monday night some...he's got speed. Avg just a hair under 26 yds per return, so has value there, especially given Mitchell will be either starting or at least get plenty of RB reps, so Cannon can handle the KR's. Also read he's an excellent ST player. My guess is he'll see PT before KJ does.

Shanny loves his RB's - how many does he have now?

Not the way they drop. Very frustrating & seems like we need another entire team of backups unfortunately.

This guy will be a good scat back and PR/KR I bet, like a Darren Sproils. Kyle could make you or me a decent RB. 😂

Especially a guy like Cannon. He'll have holes running behind this OL, this scheme fits him a lot better than Roman's offense. This will be the best opportunity he's had for success in the NFL thus far.

Considering that Mostert was also cut by Baltimore and several other teams, who knows? He's worth a shot.

I like this guy as a KR and PR.
Nick Cannon could run in this scheme.

Read somewhere he was a ST gunner and kick returner. Makes since from that standpoint.

Maybe he will take the same career path as Mostert?
