How does a player on the punt coverage team not know a basic rule like this? You have two jobs: down the ball in a favorable position, or tackle the punt returner.
Extension cometh.

In the meetings today Hightower is going to be like "WTF was that?" He covered the ball and rolled into the endzone like it was a fumble. When I saw it live for a split second I thought thats what happened. I was like "Did Seattle touch the ball?"
Dude may have singlehandedly cost us the game. If you made a pie chart, his name would be the biggest slice on it for sure when it comes to yesterday's outcome.

He doesn't even know the rules, and had that awful double fumble! Total bonehead plays!

That's unexpectable - he should be released.
Kyle needs to nut up and cut this guy. Set the tone for your team and make this sh*t unacceptable. Lack of discipline is killing us.
Why is he still on the team? Dude should have been give a bus pass and shown the door as soon as the game ended yesterday.

The punt return snafu was so egregious. This genius got up and was celebrating like he made a game changing play. How do you make it to the nfl and not know such a basic rule?
dude fumbled twice on the same play and broke the game open for seattle then ran it out when he wasnt gonna get past the 10...
Cut yet?

Says a lot about our coaching.
My thoughts exactly… just wanted to make sure that it was said. Looks like it has, but I'll reiterate:

First, the punt coverage mixup awarded Seahawks a touchback when they couldn't get a first down— they drive 80 yards and get a touchdown.

Then he has the double fumble. Subsequent Seahawk touchdown.

Then he is out there on the next kick return and doesn't want to catch the kickoff inside the five yard line. We start that drive from inside the 15 yard line. Could have been worse.

Add it all up, momentum and field position changed on these plays in addition to the scoreboard.

He goes to the sideline and must be a thinking the entire world knows he is a fraud. Can't play this game scared to do your job. I think he was replaced after he clearly lost all his confidence.

Special teams lost us this game and neither the offense, the defense, or the "next man up" could do enough to win despite the mistakes. This team needs to hold players accountable and find some sack. I'm not saying they aren't playing hard but we need to be smarter, less penalties, less mistakes.

Wish we still had that rookie we out there who balled out in preseason. Hopefully, we can get Eli Mitchell back out returning kicks next week.

Ima gonna go the other way on this. One mistake snowballed into the others cuz he freaked out and tried to overdo it thereby leading to more disaster.

He needs to relax and clear his mind by being inactive this week. Then come back and give us a couple more 60 yard returns.
