I actually hope Shanahan gives Mitchell some rest for a week or two, he'll be needed for the second half of the season. I'm hoping Sermon and maybe Chris Thompson could share the workload.

The 49ers have had the Packers number for some years now. Regardless, they are a dangerous team with Rodgers at the helm. The next few weeks will show how serious a contender we are.

But to be fair, Rodgers has only been able to beat us either when we're completely garbage or when our team was depleted with injuries.

This. Every year both teams are playoff contenders, Niners simply OWN the Packers, both regular season and post.

It's surprising we're not bigger rivals, like we were in the 90's. We've faced off with the Packers and bounced them from the Playoffs 3 times in the past 10 years and beat them, 3 more times in the regular season. We're 6-3 against them over the past 10 years. The only times they've beat us are in 2015(dear lord, the Tomsula year) 2018 after Jimmy tore his ACL and 2020 when Jimmy had a horrible high ankle.

I remember in the 90's it was like we faced them twice a year, like a division rival. Both in the regular season as we were both on top of our division each year and in the playoffs.
I looked it up, we faced them 7 times in 4 seasons in the late 90's and were 6-1 vs them. Old Mooch had Holmgrens #.

the hate for the packers is still there.. just go to a game
We better not lose in our throwbacks.

I took a look at some random packer forums and those guys are not feeling confident at all. A lot of them are actually pretty reasonable, basically stating our strengths go up against their biggest weakness. Their biggest advantage is definitely their receivers vs our CBs. And if Kinlaw can't play, Aaron Jones might run all over us.
If Jenkins is out that will be HUGE!

If we are without all of our main regular backs cept for juice and still manage to have a good running game on sunday with the rejects we have signed this week.. i will drink kyles bath water. its a huge concern for me. i hope at least one of the rookies can suit up and play, just one
I think you're battling.000 on your concerns and feelings. Time to cheer up and enjoy it while we can

This is good advice for us all.

Dude, you have no idea how much I wish I could go to a game....I live in NW Alabama......I think it's a hard sell to my wife for me to hop on a plane and go to a game leaving her home with a 4 year old and less than 2 year old, lol.

I did get a chance to go to a game the last season at Candlestick against the Cards and it was AWESOME.
WISH I could do it again. I have a good friend who's nephew is a big wig at FedEx and he almost got us suite box tickets to a game at Levi's....I've never been more disappointed in my life than when that didn't work out, lol. Ok, maybe no THE most disappointed...but close.

for some reason. cc negative dna strand.........the memory of adam walker burns into me.... also i am thinking it was the packers that ruined our hopes for a undefeated season in 89.. the year we had our best team and destroyed the broncos in the super bowl?? i also think we kind of played a overall miserable game in the catch three game. sorry.. cc negative.. f**king adam walker.. why would you play a guy and throw to him who has a big cast.. oh never mind.. oh and last year i was furious for our defense to let rodgers work the sidelines against us.. we knew he would do that. we just welcomed in

my fav part was when he fumbled the snap. he just looked like he did not give a f**k as he walked off the field. opening day in green bay in 2012 before he lost his job when alex beat rodgers in green bay was a fun game to
