The only times they've beat us are in 2015(dear lord, the Tomsula year) 2018 after Jimmy tore his ACL and 2020 when Jimmy had a horrible high ankle.

I remember in the 90's it was like we faced them twice a year, like a division rival. Both in the regular season as we were both on top of our division each year and in the playoffs.
I looked it up, we faced them 7 times in 4 seasons in the late 90's and were 6-1 vs them. Old Mooch had Holmgrens #.

No the Packers owned the 49ers in the 90s.

On paper, I think the 49ers are at least a touchdown better than GB, but the injuries level the playing field and of course Rodgers > #10, so who knows how this will turn out.

Yeah the Packers owned us in the 90s (hence my deep rooted hatred for them just like for the Cowboys).

1995 - knocked us out of the divisionals in SF
1996 - beat us on MNF
1996 - knocked us out of the divisionals in GB
1997 - beat us Sunday game
1997 - knocked us out in the NFCC game in SF
1998 - we beat them in the Wild Card in SF
1999 - beat us on MNF

We only beat them ONCE (Catch II) in the 90s, and we lost every game to them in the 00s, including a Wild Card loss in 2001 in GB.

Our winning streak against them started during the Harbaugh era.

Did I mention I have a deep rooted hatred for them ?
I think Norman gets better game by game, John might have pulled a coup here... his PIs in the first quarter were due to him being rusty, once he settled down I thought he look great

Packers are right behind the Cowboys in terms of rivalry for me due to the playoff exits they handed the 49ers. Helps that the 49ers have given it back to them the past few times. The Seahawks Rams rivalry pale in comparison imo.
Does anyone know where to find an authentic helmet with the decals they are wearing Sunday? I'm talking with the new speed flex helmet.

The 49ers have had the Packers number for some years now. Regardless, they are a dangerous team with Rodgers at the helm. The next few weeks will show how serious a contender we are.

But to be fair, Rodgers has only been able to beat us either when we're completely garbage or when our team was depleted with injuries.

This. Every year both teams are playoff contenders, Niners simply OWN the Packers, both regular season and post.

the hate for the packers is still there.. just go to a game

Dude, you have no idea how much I wish I could go to a game....I live in NW Alabama......I think it's a hard sell to my wife for me to hop on a plane and go to a game leaving her home with a 4 year old and less than 2 year old, lol.

I did get a chance to go to a game the last season at Candlestick against the Cards and it was AWESOME.
WISH I could do it again. I have a good friend who's nephew is a big wig at FedEx and he almost got us suite box tickets to a game at Levi's....I've never been more disappointed in my life than when that didn't work out, lol. Ok, maybe no THE most disappointed...but close.
That is a far trip with and tough to leave the wife and little ones at home...

too bad you can't feel/experience the tailgate, walk up to the stadium for these packer games... unreal... This one is going to be crazy.. We haven't had a real game in Levi with fans since the last game against the Pack.. there's lot of pinned up emotion off the last SB lost, the pandemic any other termoil that people have gone through in the last two years..

Like Wayne Campbell and the white pre-CBS buyout Fender stratocaster, one day I will be at Levi's...oh yes, I will be at Levi's.

Buy the authentic helmet and the decal separately. Put the decal on the helmet

I'm not that good
Sermon looks like he's going to get the chance to prove himself this game. He should be getting most of the load in the running game.

If you're from the generation that grew up in the late 80s/90s (I started watching the Niners in 1989 when I was 9 yrs old), the Cowboys and Packers are on top of the list when it comes to rivalry and hatred. Without them being in our way, we could've added championships in 92,93,95,96,97 to the 94 one.

I think the newer generation of 49er fans hate Seattle and LA more. But as you said, the newer rivalries pale in comparison to the aforementioned. The winner of the NFC in the 90s was default SB champion during that decade.
