The NFL did not do GB any favors in scheduling this game. Coming off Monday night they need to travel cross country for a prime time game. The very definition of a scheduled loss. It will be embarrassing if the 49ers don't take care of business.

I will say this (not to beat a dead horse)….

IF we had drafted Aaron Rodgers first overall in that 2005 NFL draft, the entire trajectory of this team…hell, the entire league…would have been different. There is no doubt in my mind that we would've been a dynasty, and the Patriots / 49ers rivalry for dominance of the 2010s would have been EPIC (on par with the rivalry we had with the 90s Cowboys).

Now, mind you, with Aaron Rodgers as our QB the makeup of this team would have been different. Do we get to draft some of those same players because of draft positioning ? Do we get the opportunity to get coached by Harbaugh or maybe Kyle Shanahan? Doubt it, given that Rodgers probably wouldn't allow this team to become a cellar dweller prompting coaching changes at the pace we did since that infamous draft.

Regardless, we can only dream about the coulda, woulda, shouldas when it comes to ARod. I, no doubt, will be rooting for a Packers massacre come Sunday night. But I'm sure all of us, at least at one point during the game, will have that thought cross our mind of what could've been.

With that said, go NINERS

It happens. We have to go to Tennessee on a Thursday night game…thats not ideal.

Packers getting one less day to prep isn't nearly as big of a deal as road TNF game across the country.

This. I was really impressed with the victory last week, but I'll be equally disappointed if they don't pull out the win here, especially against a very mediocre defense.

One less day to prep, and one less day lost to travel.

Like I said every team goes through it. We have to play Rams MNF then go across the country to Jacksonville. Just because they're not a great team doesn't mean we don't deal with the same issues the Packers are dealing with getting ready for this game…they also have a much shorter flight and don't have to play early in the eastern time zone.

I think his point is that for this particular game, we have yet another advantage in that we are playing our home opener AND we're playing a team that had one less day to prep and had to cross country to play.

yes all teams deal with it and adjust. But it's still a disadvantage. Even players have acknowledged it as such.
31 - 27 Niners win.

You do realize the 49ers are 3rd worst at 7.4? Can't take advantage of the Packers banged up OL, if Aaron Jones is avg 5 yds/carry. THAT is the key to this game. GB is terrible against the run, but so are we.

On paper, this game sure looks like a blowout.

You wouldn't think so, listening to some of these pundits. I'm hearing things like "Rodgers is on a mission" and "he's looking for revenge" and "he's back to old form". All this from ONE HALF of good football where small hand Goff fumbled away a drive, threw an errant 4th and 2 pass, and Detroit self destructed.

Although most local beat writers and objective analysts have acknowledged that this is just a bad matchup do GB historically and they expect an easy Niners win unless GB can pull off a miracle.
