the first of many signings. I expect about 4 more in the next two weeks. Is cap gonna hurt this process?

Released Dee Virgin to make room lol

Who?

Da Virgin

I heard on his first tackle of every game he says "touched for the very first time!"

Lol..

Hey… what happened to Kerryon Johnson? Is he healthy? Still on the roster? I thought he's the most talented of the names so far..

From the Athletic mail bag today regarding Jacques Patrick, I'm taking that he can get up to speed quickly. The Athletic is great btw

He was in the same backfield as Dalvin Cook and Sam Akers at Florida State and the Seminoles didn't change the play calls when he got into games. Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor is a disciple of Sean McVay, who is a disciple of Mike and Kyle Shanahan, so he was running the same outside zone plays with the Bengals that he'll run with the 49ers.

That was the attraction to Patrick. The 49ers saw him have a strong preseason and know it won't take him long to get up to speed with their system. He arrived in the Bay Area on Tuesday and the plan is to get him on the field Wednesday so the 49ers have the option of suiting him up Sunday if need be.

Hmmmm....you sound like someone.

If need be? oh that's funny...
Big physical RB, i like it. A nice switch up for the fast RBs we've had out there.

He is on the practice squad. Shannahan said after the game he has a chance to be active vs Packers. Im thinking Elijah will play. If Sermon can get cleared for Sunday they can roll Mitchell, Sermon and Johnson..If Sermon doesn't pass protocol Third back would be Cannon.

Don't count on Sermon. Even if he plays you get the standard 1 carry then to the locker room production we've seen in his games vs legit competition

Just waiting on you to compare this new guy to Najee Harris. Or did you already do so?

Huh? Why would I do that? With his size, I'd compare him to my cousin, Antowain Smith. He's much slower and less shifty but a big physical runner like he was.
If nothing else, Patrick can take some of the pounding away from the other RB's on 3rd downs and short yardage TD's. I've been hoping for a big RB for some time and now we have one. He can also be valuable in the 4th qtr when opposing DL's get tired...keep rollin' the rock and secure wins.

Good burst 1st ten yards then tops out. Good power, interesting to see him run outside zone. Like a power version of it
Doesn't go down easy, arm tackles won't work. This is a nice addition
