I for one am not totally comfortable with last minute last resort desperate practice quad signings starting for our team. I'm thinking that a trade is the only way we get the caliber RB that we really need to run our O proper . Any ideas on who might be available at this point
Dont think we have the cap room for any big name or semi-big name RB

It's a tough decision because we have RB's they are just all nicked up. Invest in a big name or let the kids heal up is quite a dilemma.

Our run game is such that you don't need a star back to gain 4-5 yards a carry. We need guys that can block and are not fragile at this point that can hold down the fort until Wilson and Hasty return.

So for now it has to be Mitchell, Sermon (if he passes protocol), Cannon, and Patrick.

Juice can run in a pinch and so can Deebo on the outside runs. Maybe more Trey option runs too.

But no trades for me unless they will swap a fresh 2nd round RB for the Dancing Bear OG guy.
So do we have any potential running backs in this forum? Niners might hold try outs soon.

I'm sure we can pick up an effective rb at Arby. Our running game is effective because of team blocking scheme and effort.
Would rather see what we have before worrying about spending capital on a short term RB we might not need.
Why spend capital when you get good production out of just about anyone back there. Jeff Wilson Jr will be back in the fold after 5 more games. This scheme opens up some serious running lanes and this staff has had great success finding hidden gems.
Yesssssss…

Think we could get Gallman back for a 6th? He is on Atlanta's roster. Didn't have a carry last week. They have their own issues at RB but Gallman makes a whole lot of sense to me

Wishing we had Gallman right about now.

As far as OP...Shanahan doesn't need a big name for RB. He makes them a big name.

Its kind of hard to believe Todd Gurley can't get a look. I know he's not the player he once was, but he had an okay year in ATL last season.
