Delanie Walker really came into his own after leaving here.

Brandon Lloyd had a huge year, and a few solid ones, after leaving as well.

Two homegrown talents that our staff never fully utilized.

Charles Haley. Traded away because he peed on the coaches.

And masturbated during position meetings.

what?

Yeeeeup.

"Charles used to beat off in meetings while talking graphically about players' wives," says Michael Silver, who covered the 49ers for the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. "It got to the point of ejaculation."

That's the end game though, isn't it?

And he left because a receiver thought that "if it looks like a rat, then it must be a rat..."

I think the exact terminology was "if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then…" referring to Garcia's sexuality.

Mind you, Garcia at the time was hooked up with a hot model.

TO was a dips**t…

Easy.

DEION SANDERS. The guy had the ability to shut down half the field. Would have repeated SB champ in 1995 and had he stuck around long enough, probably another in 1997.

Yeah, those Mooch teams had horrible defense

I think the 97 team had the number 1 ranked D in the league, but it was made up of a bunch of retreats like Rod Woodson and Kevin Greene. Was great until we ran into our Achilles heel Brett Favre.

Yes, you're right. I'm thinking of later teams where Garcia and TO tore it up in garbage time.
I was hoping they'd hire Pete Carroll as head coach back then. Dam he would have been 43. I loved his defense over Mooch's offense.

Terrell Owens was still producing after he was traded to the Eagles. Still sucks that we traded him away though.
What sucks about Owen's and Haley is both needed serious mental health. We didn't get them help back then, and maybe the proper meds were not available.
Owens burned every QB and organization he went to after us. I think the only QB he respected was Young
Our other big mistake with Haley was trading him to Dal. How dumb was that. We should have traded him to the AFC and a team like Cleveland.

Haley was traded because he threatened Jerry Rice. That was the last straw.

Gore, Garcia, and Montana never did anything in their post-Niner career that made me wish we hadn't let them go. Walker, Peterson, Rice, and Deion all would've been nice to keep a bit longer. Owens obviously went on to be great for years later, but he was a total douche and burned his bridges so I didn't care that he was gone.

Gore, Montana, Rice and TO all had their best years by far in SF. Sanders played well as he did for Dallas but his best years were in Atlanta. Imagine how ATL fans felt watching him help 1st the Niners then the Cowboys win SBs.

Steve Young took us to the NFCCG both years Montana was in KC, and won the SB.

His one year with SF was easily the best season of his career.

Yeah, he balled his first year with KC.
Deforest Buckner. Left due to moneyball. And his replacement now looks like Tarzan but has chronic knee issues that we knew about but decided to ignore. I know trading Buckner allowed us to keep AA and Ward but I really don't care. Ward is good and AA is good when he has beasts next to him but Buckner is a top 3 DT bar none. Him and Bosa next to one another for years to come would have been lovely to watch.
