Romanowski, Wesley Walls, thought we let Ronnie Lott go too soon.

Favre was better than Young at that point but the real reason they owned us was because they were better at the LOS period. They pretty much had the best OL/DL in the league, and the 49ers had a GREAT defensive line.

Mind you, Garcia at the time was hooked up with a hot model.
TO was a dips**t…
He ended up marrying a former Playboy Playmate (Carmella DeCesare).
I'm pretty sure his DUI in January 2004 played a massive part in us releasing him.

Ronnie Lott was a gamble. That was under plan B which allowed each team to protect 37 players. Because of his age and high salary they gambled that no other team would want to sign him and he would revert back to them. Obviously it backfired but Lott didn't have much left in the tank. He was 32 and had a good year his first season with the Raiders but he really tapered off the next year. The Raiders let him walk and he signed with the Jets where he was okay but certainly not great. I always wondered if Bill Walsh had still been HC if they would have protected him.
