IF they want to trade for someone, why not look to see who's young playing well and due for a new deal in a yr or two? Some teams might not want to resign them and are rebuilding.

So trade for a mediocre rb coming off a Achilles tear that hasn't proved he can still be effective since the surgery and pay him 2,000,000.00 on top of that. Sounds like a great decision let's do it!!

Good call!
I'm not confident we have the ammo to do the deal.
He wants a big fat contract on top of being trade...plus we have no idea if he's actually healthy and in football shape.
No more giving up legit draft picks for what is probably a one yr rental...if we're giving up picks time to go young.
2019 DPOY. I'm sure he know's how to get him self ready to play. He's also only 31.

Trade Armstead plus a future 5th. We get rid of Jimmy in the offseason and can easily absorb any extension for Gilmore because Jimmy and Armstead off the books

I think you'll have to wait closer to the deadline amd see who's in it, who's not. If the Pat's are clearly out of it or far from it, Gilmore becomes available or some requisite situation. Nearer to the deadline is when I think that makes more sense. We could make a trade now and within 2 weeks have our entire starting offense on IR. Not hoping for it, but we all know it's possible. I say don't give up more draft capital until you have to.

I mean all I heard all off-season is we are a SB team and we kept Jimmy because of our SB aspirations. SB or bust this season right? If that is the case, you do whatever it takes to go for it all this season and those two moves would definitely help
Yup. I was screaming for Casey Hayward in FA, Samuel Jr in the draft and now Gillmore in a trade. Please get this guy. I DGAF if he's over 30, a second rounder is certainly worth a 2019 DPOY considering our second round picks aren't a lock not to bust let alone contribute or start.
With the receivers in our division or that we play in general, you would think this would be a priority even if he cost a lot of money. His value did go down recently imo and we will be without Jimmy Garoppolo's contract on the books next year with the salary cap going up. Let's f**king do it already.

I would rather see if they can get a younger guy as well. I'm tired of trading for guys and trying to squeeze 1 or 2 years out of him. Then you're right back wher eyou started minus the draft pick you traded.

At CB I think we have to make a move. We're counting on a Rookie in Lenoir who's been very up and down and a 33 year old soon to be 34 Josh Norman who was in the hospital spitting out blood to line up opposite of Mosley who has already missed time this season oh and we're now down our starting slot db for 3 weeks...maybe?

Marlon Mack would make our offense exponentially better. Hope they're at least inquiring about him.

The only reason I think we are not is because Mitchell will most likely be back this week and Wilson will be back in 2-3 more weeks

If they're young and playing well, presumably starting, we're going to have to pay a premium to get them.

Recovery from an achilles injury is a little tricky. They might be a little reluctant to make that move. They haven't had a lot of luck trading for RBs with an injury history. I'm guessing they'll go with what they have and see how their injured guys progress. Maybe after the upcoming bye they make a move.

I would trade a late round pick for Mack in a heartbeat. With the rate our guys go down we can't really be relying on guys off the street or XFL.

I think we're ok with Bosa and Ford, but you can never have enough depth.
