Do we need to make an aggressive trade

Nope. No aggressive trades because even if we had a shutdown corner, it wouldn't have prevented this loss.

At some point two things are going to eventually come back to bite you in the ass:
(1) Bad drafts, particularly busting more than hitting annually on rounds 1 - 3/4
(2) Projecting oft injured players as starters

One CB isn't going to stop that bleeding. We should be asking why is Banks not playing over Brunskill. Why was Sermon drafted that high? Why was Aiyuk drafted in round 2? Why did we project Verett to be a starter with no insurance policy?

Agree and disagree. Jalen Ramsey would make a difference against Adams. He would not been giving Adams a 20 yard cushions. I 100% agree about points 1 and 2. and you forgot one question. Why is DJ playing over Ambry thomas?

I think it is too late to make a trade at this point. The only moves that make sense is to sign Sherman and let our RB's get healthy.

We are who we are

3rd round Draft picks sitting on the sideline...?

2nd round draft picks not even dressing. There were a lot of people who wanted Stafford and I think if the Rams weren't so aggressive we woulda made the trade.

We can't keep losing on and off the field. If we wanted Stafford and if we were really in "win now" mode our behavior would have been different.

Win now = trade the first rounders and JG for Stafford - offer more than the Rams.

Build for the future = trade those first rounders for a rookie QB, keep JG (start him), and wait on rookie to develop (sit him).

Either way you lose the first round picks.

Trust me I was all in on the trade for Stafford talk. Now if you believe Kyle he was told a trade wouldn't happen fast for Stafford when he was told about Matthew being possibly traded. Then the next day he was traded to the Rams.

Cause we struggle with CB evaluation. Lenoir is the exception to the rule.

It's not that simple, we need the savings from Jimmy's deal in 2022 to help retain Bosa, Dre, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kinlaw, etc long term, having a QB on a rookie deal is what was needed. Plus I wouldn't have offered 3 1's for Stanford, now if Rodgers was available & willing to redo his deal to help the cap long term, then I would have had no issue doing 3 1's for him, but he was never being traded.

Gotta have something to trade, my man.

This
Whatever the position they need to upgrade the DB's. Their division has 3 really strong armed QBs and some big fast receivers. All 3 of the other teams have at least one really fast or really big receiver that create a matchup problem for this team. Trying to contain Hopkins, Metcalf and the receivers the Rams have now is not going to be pretty.
It's week three. Niners are 2-1. The front office doesn't have much draft capital or spare players to trade for anyone. It's not time to panic.
whats the point if we keep losing starters every game. no team has enough resources to keep making trades to keep up with replacing the amount of guys we lose. either we fix the strength an conditioning problem or we do nothin. thats the source of the problem. until thats fixed wel just keep goin through this cycle.

This. The "win now" strategy for 2021 doesn't seem to project as viable so I say it's time to get ready for 2022. Let Lance play. Let the rook corners play. Start evaluating who we're going to keep and who we're going to let walk and identify our draft and FA needs. Let's get Banks out there and see what we have in our 2nd rounder.

1. Jimmy has a no trade clause why would he waive it to go to freaking Detroit and 2. It's on freaking game, god the webzone acts like the sky's falling, no wonder this place has gone downhill & no wonder we're called the Forty Whiners.

lol 2-1 and this dude is ready to pack up the bags!!!

What should 1-2 Seattle do right now? Should they execute their entire team and start over?

the strategy of "win now" was dumb from the get go. But some people need to see it with their eyes. And you better believe the players are also wanting to run it back like 2019 too. Reality will hit sometime soon, but now probably isn't the time when we are still 2-1. After these divisional games, we'll see if they're able to step up to the plate. But my guess is, this is who they are.

JFC offer the best WR on this team so we can what... draft another WR who isnt proven and hope he is better than Deebo?

The zone just needs a xanax. I'd insert a billy madison gif but would probably get a time out for it.

I think this zoner needs spell check or he is smoking to much of the gonga. Why would Lynch trade away the best WR on the team??? bizaro

What the 49ers really need and have needed for years is a true shut down corner. Even Verrett when healthy wasn't able to shut down the big fast guys. Until they get a really good corner, this team will be vulnerable to those deep passes from any QB/WR combo that has chemistry. It only takers a couple of bombs per game to turn things around. A pass rush helps but it looks like the officials are going to allow more holding this year in an effort to protect the QBs even more. I've watched a few games and it seems like there has been fewer holding penalties this year than in the past.

I disagree, what the 49ers really need to take this defense to elite is a ball hawking Safety like a Ed Reed or Earl Thomas. Sure those aren't easy to come by but Jimmie Ward is just not gonna change his game and become that any time soon.

None of those are easy asks. Simply put our best corner is unreliable and we foolishly depended on him. We will pay the price but Im hopeful that our rookies will survive this trial by fire. They will be taken to school and tested each week now that this is on film. It will be up to the pass rush, notably anyone not named Bosa to step up and for our offense to score and take pressure off 0f the D. Im.hoping to see us take more advantage of positional matchups. Very few defenses should be able to cover Kittle, Aiyuk, Samuel, AND go 8 in the box to stop the run all game.

I have been a Jimmy G supporter from day 1, and I hated (and still hate) the trade that brought us Lance - I hope I'm wrong on this. However it is very clear to me after last night that Kyle has no trust in Jimmy. Aside from the INT, I don't recall another pass that was more than 10 yards downfield until the final drive. I'm sure there are some, but not enough.
If all they are going to ask the QB to do is throw screen passes and 4 yard slants, then Lance should be able to handle that. Make the switch now and let the kid get some experience.
I realize that there is a ton about the advanced "X's & O's" that fans like me don't get, but it just baffles me that we can't ever, ever get a WR open down field for a fairly easy catch. Every throw last night was a jump ball to Debo or a contested catch made by Aikuk or Kittle.
