⛏ SF 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks Pregame Thread - 2021 Season Wk 4

I'd love to see the numbers for it but I feel like Seattle is more likely to go for bigger plays which helps our DL.

I'm sure Seattle will try to take a page from GB and chip the hell out of Bosa and get the ball out quick but we should be adjusting on our side as well.

I certainly hope our defense has a better showing even though we have our struggles with mobile QBs and Russ but one of the biggest problems for us against them has been Russ buying time and finding guys open down the field. That goes against the quick passing game which gave us problems vs GB.

But as mentioned before this is a game we cannot have our offense start cold. We need to trust the players we have and let them play. No scared playcalling. Hopefully we step our game up. I'm tired of losing to these b***hes. Their fans are the worst.

Did Green Bay and Rodgers and Adams help our DLINE? LOL
Wilson owns us. This might be the game that make Trey the starter.

How do those two sentences go together? Wilson doesn't play against our offense.

GB picked their spots. Most of the game they got the ball out super fast. Seattle's offense isn't typically a quick throw offense. They look for big plays down the field which is why Russ is sacked a lot (on top of their OL struggles)

The point was the longer developing plays allow our DL to get to the QB. If the ball comes out quick there's not much they can do.

Might be because we had to start defending against the quick passes, which means more players going into short coverage.

The other thing is all the niners EVER do is quick/short passes. Yet Jimmy took like 20 hits and was sacked 5 times. Strange

Our Oline played poorly Sunday. They couldn't open up any running lanes and nearly got Jimmy killed. Even Trent was guilty of an egregious error.
Felt like our whole team was just flat. Not terribly surprising. It was a slug fest in Philly and back to back road games. So many in here act like they're robots instead of people. Because we ALWAYS are just killing it when we go to work and never lay an egg in the clock.

no,, no excuse for coming out flat at home in front of fans for the first time in two years.. zero excuse. thats on kyle. thats on the players. thats on the leadership on our team.. whoever that is supposed to be..
If the game comes down to a final series the Seahawks prevail. No matter how many points the 49ers score Wilson will match. Watch how the Seahawks' front four become the Fearsome Foursome.
The Seahawks have been the bane of our existence since Carroll has been there. I fear we will take a beating this game. I see them bullying us on both sides of the ball, lucky 3rd down conversions and Armstead running in slow motion trying to contain Russ.

Seahawks: 27
49ers: 16

Simple. The entire team sucks, blame Jimmy.
Here's the hard reality. We are not the best team in this division. At least not with their current roster.

We have the 4th best QB in the division plus the injuries, no way we pull out on top this season.

Rams or Arizona will win it, but as long as Seattle has Wilson, they always have a chance.

I don't have that same confidence with us having Jimmy all season.

With possibly having 2 or 3 teams from this division in the playoffs this year, the odds aren't looking great for us.

Yes I know it's still early, but I'm just facing the music. I rather have low expectations and not be surprised by the outcome, than to have high expectations and the niners disappoint.

Call it whatever you want. just saying.

49ers are currently the 6th best in the league at points per possession (2.63). That's simply amazing considering we've only gotten one turnover in 3 games and our average field position is also the 8th worst in the league. As slow as the offense has been these past two games, they still show up when they need to. I actually have faith in the offense to put points on the board, just wish we'd do something in the first half. We could be making most games like the Detroit game.

Defense is middle of the pack currently. We could be much better, but until we start causing some turnovers, our defense will continue to be a sieve at times and "bend but don't break" at other times. They're highly inconsistent currently, and a large part of that is due to injuries, and a small part of that is due to a new DC.

It's still early yet. Seattle's team outside of the skill positions is pretty meh. Russell will always give them a chance, but if we take care of business on Sunday, Seattle falls to 1-3, and we stay right in the thick of things with Arizona and Los Angeles, especially considering one of them will be getting a big fat L this week. Assuming LA wins and we win, division will look like this after week 4:

1. LA 4-0
2. SF 3-1 (1-0 in div)
3. AZ 3-1 (0-1 in div)
4. SEA 1-3

I don't any confidence in the defense period. Honestly after watching all the rookie QB's look like crap over this past weekend, I don't have confidence in starting Trey Lance that's if the key is to win now and Super Bowl. But if they're in the rebuild mode, f**k it trade Jimmy, trade whoever, just fix the frickin defense.

QB gets the blame no matter what.
