Throwing the ball is one thing, chemistry is another. Guys were never healthy enough last year to get chemistry. ARod and and Adams probably practiced those back shoulder passes hundreds of times. I doubt Jimmy has that much chemistry with any receiver. Him and Deebo are getting there, but he needs it with BA.
Omg after watching JDs breakdown. We have that win away on a silver platter. We should've destroyed that team. I better not see press-man ever again. Ryan needs to copy and paste Saleh's defense.

Press man was designed to take away the quick passes. Philosophically, it's the right thing to do, you just need the personnel to pull it off. At least get a hand on them off the line to mess up the timing.

Yeah, it became ridiculous to see Rodgers just go to Adams. He was targeted 18 times in the game on 32 throws - while he was in the game. They took one throw after he got obliterated by Ward. Literally over half of Rodgers's throws went to Adams.

Imagine what the WZ would say about Jimmy if he threw half his passes to Aiyuk and won a game:
ANYONE CAN WIN WITH THAT KIND OF RECEIVER!!!!!!
LOL.

I get the reasoning to press and/or play man vs GB, but using hindsight, I'd prefer if they doubled Adams and force some other WR to beat them. I think being zone dominant and watching Rodgers slowly slice up the coverage would have been frustrating to watch, with the four man pass rush not working well. I remember there were two instances where a 49er DB committed pass interference when it was not necessary (they had good coverage, bad throw). It looked really bad to start the game, but there was a portion in the middle of the game where the pass coverage held up.

That's what I couldn't get to on the video, we started disguising coverage better. We'd show man and back out into zone or show C2 and go C4 or 3. It slowed down Rodgers's processing and he was late on some throws or inaccurate.

Yes I saw them disguise coverage a number of times when they played zone. It's harder to disguise man coverage and near impossible to disguise press man. Disguising man would mean playing off coverage and I don't think allowing the WRs a free release is going to help things. I wonder how aggressive Ryans wants to be with zone match principles. It's hard to do when the outside CBs are rotating in and out of the lineup (injured), then they lost KWaun early.

You mean like when we beat Detroit when Jimmy continually feed Deebo and many of us perceived "Jimmy haters" said Jimmy played well and were still being called haters?

It would be even worse, Jimmy would've had to have target Deebo 2 more times to equal the same target rate - and the WZ DID erupt with a bunch of people said, "yeah but he can't keep doing that". That would be like the Packers fans going into a Rodgers forum after Sunday night and saying, "Rodgers played pretty well, but a lot of that was just Adams beating up on their backup corners. We don't be able to do that against better teams". This is literally what fans said in the Jimmy thread after DET, lol.

I wouldn't care who Jimmy threw the ball to if he WON THE GAME. But he lost the game. 2 turnovers resulted in 3 points (thanks to our defense) and we lost by 2.

I just want us to stay healthy, but this year will be growing pains for Ryan's to get this talented defense up and running. Lets hope he's up to the task.

Next years draft better be all o-line and secondary lol

No, I'm pretty sure this place was REAL vocal after 2 wins - so...no. The comments in the Jimmy G thread would loudly say otherwise.

So what about the other 27 points surrendered by the defense?

1. The Oline got exposed. Mack is old and weak and will keep getting bullied.
2. Matt LeFluer out-coached Kyle.
3. Jimmy took what the D gave him.
4. Meco knew that GB would try to neutralize the pass rush with quick passes so he countered with press alignment. Too bad the DBs sucked at press.
5. Injuries on Defense may tank another season. If Norman didn't get hurt, we win this game due to no rookie brain farts. Lenoir had safety help up top, why in the hell is he bailing on the final play? Norman would have known what to do there.

Kyle's voice says that he knows this season is prob effed. He doesn't have a veteran like Rodgers who can throw 45 yard sideline rockets flat footed, in .70 seconds. Rodgers is the greatest thrower ever.
