But the problem is we are not anywhere close to being healthy, So we are going to need a QB to help carry us and with that we need Trey's ceiling. We are not making the playoffs with Jimmy with so many guys injured. So may as well give the rookie reps and see if it gives the team a spark. And if it doesn't, then atleast he gets playing time under his belt going into next season.
This isn't a SB roster
If it's not, then why did Shanny and lynch feel comfortable going into the season with it.

Raheem was so important to this team. Opens it up so much and allows our quarterbacks to eventually do what they are asked. Miss that dude

Hard to defend a fourth-and-1 where the head coach puts the QB in shotgun, then runs an obvious-looking bland play to the outside with a wide receiver.
I have defended this administration to my son, our head scratching coaching and draft decisions, all the injuries, all the crap. Somehow he still believes. I drive five hours from my daughter's home and left early to get in to see this mess. I am as distraught a fan as you can get. Someone tell me something to pick me up, because right now, I'm not going to watch SF-ARIZ next week, then there's the bye.
By the way, my son got up today and said, "I'm out. I just can't take the disappointment anymore. I'm about to quit watching."
The thing he and I have always done, watch the 49ers together. Appreciate it, 49ers. Backed you even through Tomsula. Cant take much more.
We have the exact life Bro lol. My son has stayed true and faithful all these years through all the disappointments. I don't even know what to say anymore to him, but I have noticed we both seem to drink more beers than we used to lol. Just keep the faith Bro, it all comes back around eventually.

f**k it just trade Jimmy now and give this season to Trey. Kyle is on the hotseat in 2022.
No one will take Jimmy. He isn't a top 10 or 15 QB and he's paid like one.
You can get a 2nd for him. Even today.
From who
You think Miami doesn't need a QB right now?
They obviously don't need Jimmy. Otherwise he'd be going there.
They don't want Tua and their HC is a BB disciple who coached in NE when Jimmy was considered better than Brady. I can see them giving up a 2nd to get Tua off the team with all the draft capital they now have....

He sold his soul for a replacement @ QB. If you saw a clear Super Bowl run from this team no questions,....then that's on you!! lol.
All the signs were there that there's probably going to be a transition period @ some point this season. Philly survived one and made it to the Super Bowl,...Tom did when he was young and won one,...but it's very rare,...especially for a rook that you know is going to take over.
I'm not disappointed because I knew the ride would be bumpy all along.
Yeah. This season is going the way I kinda figured it would go. I'm disappointed but not shocked.

Why put the entire run game this season on a guy who can't stay healthy? Coaching issues.

I'm disappointed only because it happened so early. I wanted to at least be a close division race until later in the season.

Yet we had all the yelling and screaming all offseason about how he should stay in from 1 thru 17 like it was really realistic just based on his history.

Wasn't expected to be back anyway. He's probably waiting until the off-season so he'll be fresh for his new team

Trey isn't ready and the offense was STILL better with him after the first couple of drives, converting those 4th downs with his legs and arm.
It's a wash between the two, each with different strengths.
If Jimmy was good for more than two efficient, methodical drives per game, I'd keep him. But what's the difference between two methodical drives per game + stagnation and two fast scores per game + stagnation? Not much. Except this: the run game is better with the threat of Trey.
I'd play him going forward.

Season may not be lost if we stick with him.
