⛏ SF 49ers at Arizona Cardinals Pregame Thread - 2021 Season Wk 5

I wonder how much rest Vance Joseph is getting this week. The prospect of going against what Lance can bring and the lack of film has got to be terrifying.
Go 49ers
For all those bettors out there. Arizona defensive TD? Prop
49ers 20
Cardinals 52

Probably alot. I'm usually not negative like...at all. I bet he knows Lance will have his splash plays, but if he defends his read-option they should be fine. He saw the inaccuracy issues and being timid. Make Lance throw will be his gameplan.

As for us, hopefully Lance fixes those issues and we'll win! But that's a tall order and something that cannot be fixed in a week. I hope I'm wrong
Murray and Co. gave us hella trouble during our championship run two years ago now theve added AJ Green along with Hopkins and Rondale Moore. Defense is scary af with Jones, Baker, Simmons, Golden, and now Watt.
Trey Lance - 20/24, 424 yards, 5 TD's, 97 yards rushing and 1 TD
Kyler - 21/22, 355 yards, 3 TD, 1 int, 75 yards rushing

Niners win on a last second FG 20-7
You guys think we see that lance to sherfield touchdown play in the preseason?

I will eat my Jimmy Garoppolo jersey and post the video here if anything close to this happens

I mean if he's watching the same film we all watched Sunday the game plan should be to make him beat you throwing the ball. Accuracy from the pocket didn't look great from lance
Lance looked pretty bad at first. But I feel like a week of practice with a gameplan for him, he will look way better. All I want to see is enough progress to have hope it wasn't wasted picks.

Jimmy has peaked. He was at his best when Kyle let him sling it in those last 5 games of 2018. I loved our team in 2019 making the SB and Jimmy was a huge part of that. But the sail hasn't been filled for some time now.

As far as this game, it's a division game. I don't expect to see a blowout. Murray is going to be elusive. If nothing else, I'm excited to watch Lance escape a pocket. Low bar, I know, but so tired of watching sacks and panic throws. And please let the kid throw a bomb or two. Can't win without trying, can't lose without trying not to.

I'm counting at least 45 yard in roughing the passer when he does the last second baseball slide.

Well for one thing he needs to go back to grammar school. His math isn't too good. 5 passing TDs and one rushing TD adds up to 36 points without the extra points. Kyler throws for 3. Still he has the final score at 20-7. Give this guy an F in math.

it's always tough in AZ, even if we were full strength this would be a tough game. In Kylers rookie year when we were an elite team they really pushed us to the limit in both games.

My expectations for this season have gone from well maybe we can be a top NFC team to well if we could get into the playoffs at the 7 seed that would be pretty awesome. I'm at peace with it. Too many injuries, and even aside from the injuries i don't think all of our players have played up to what we expected. Just one of those years but i still think we could push for a playoff spot

Yeah injuries have been the main factor for us losing. People want to say that our players haven't played up to their expectation, well neither have the Seahawks and especially the Cardinals considering they should've lost to Minnesota if not for a missed easy fg and XP by their kicker not to mention struggling against the Jags.

So again with a healthy team we are the best team in this division but the reality is we are never healthy and the teams in our division are always much much healthier than us. That is the difference.

We had the Green Bay game easily if Shanahan didn't snap the ball with 12 seconds on the play clock for the last 2 plays. I'm sure Rodgers couldn't get in fg range with 13 seconds. That's not even considering Mostert would of lit them up and Verrett could of stopped 1 more 1st down conversation of Adams.

Against Seattle, special teams or backup players cost us 11 points (Robbie Gould would've made the fg and xp and Cannons 7 point gift) that's another easy win not to mention no Mostert who would of lit up Seattle, Verrett and the wonderful defensive PI's.

So all of this doom and gloom talk is a joke considering we are easily 4-0 with major injuries if 1) we managed the clock vs gb and 2) Gould and cannon don't spot Seattle 11 points. That's the reality and it sucks.

Now we have to play Arizona without Verrett who absolutely destroyed Hopkins and Mostert who absolutely destroyed them in the first game. It's just sad how lucky our division opponents are. Now we are playing for a wild-card spot
