A win on Sunday will give the season some life going into a much needed bye.

Yep, either Trey or Jimmy - it'd be nice to get a win and get some momentum heading into the bye.

This is just a thot, but instead of adding a 17th game this yr, what really would have been smart would have been to add a second bye and make the season 15 games…give these huge powerful athletes, some more time to heal and rest from an incredibly hard season. But no, NFL goes opposite direction and adds a 17th game. Bad decision.

Injuries have scuttled a number of teams once again this yr, it isn't just us, it's a lot of teams. Yes, we have a 7 yr record now of losing more players to injury during the yr than anyone else, but yet nobody can come up with giving these guys an extra blow? That isn't thinking out of the box, that is thinking about ways to mitigate all the injury across the league.

Oh, and do away wiht the dumb idea of going easy on OTAs, TCs and PS practices. Like Joe Staley said you gotta get used to what is going to come in the season and that is a lot of hard hits…"Make a callous" i believe is what Joe was quoted as.

This team is so up and down right now and without knowing who the starter at QB is going to be it's difficult to expect anything other than a loss.

Trey it's an expected loss, Jimmy gives us a chance but this entire team would have to show up with it's A game.

Does not matter who our QB is AZ is going to kick our a*#. I predicted we would get blown out by Seattle, and surprised that did not happen, but we imploded and lost more guys as usual. Having to play back up - backups at corner I must say they did a nice job against Locket and Metcalf. (I predicted about 3 TD's for each.)

But,the Rams looked great the first 3 weeks and AZ handled them easily and they have the best, or at least top 3 shut down corner.

Deebo seems like the only player over achieving on offense, Sherfield was as well the first weeks but it also seems like Kyle switches on a dime even if a player gets hot and they may get 15 snaps the next week or 0.

We've got too many 4,5,6th stringers filling in for AZ,or any decent team to exploit. The Rams couldn't even get a finger on Murray so I don't expect us to be able to either.

The only way we win this one is KM goes out by halftime or Trey matches KM on scoring, which would be awesome but I don't think he's there in week 5 with 2 quarters under his belt even with a full week of prep. And if JG starts he's good for at least 1 Int per game, 1 quarter of stalled drives, 1 quarter of average play and 1 more quarter of potluck of all the above, so he can't match KM score for score.

I hope to be wrong again this week but my next gen stats tell me "it ain't looking good".

Watching a healthy jimmy is bad enough but when he is gimpy and can't plant his foot what do you think happens? How many int's? How many high feeble throws across the middle that serve up our receivers for knockout blows? Is that fun for you? I bleed red and gold 45 years of loyalty to the niners. No team change for me. QB change.. definitely. Head coach change after the season… yes. Returning full ownership to Eddy… hell yes.

Maybe Kyle should make it a game time decision so the Cards have to prepare for both.

Pretty sure this will be the case.

You forget the NFL's golden rule, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!

Few owner's honestly give a rats a*# about the player's,they want semi more loads of monaaaay. Plus, the player's association agreed on the 17th game just like the owner's so .

It would be better for the athletes and the overall game, but that's asking a multi billion dollar industry to do something that would make them less money and not more.

nvm

Im sorry, just trying to lighten the mood

I don't think the cards are the best team in the league. Should've lost to vikes & were losing in 4th to jags. Hoping for the best!

Those are good points french. Just need a good game plan from the coaches going in. But it seems impossible for the offense and defense to be on the same page on game days. When one side of the ball is playing well, the other isnt.
30-14 49ers, Trey puts up 3 Tds and the running game gets back on track. Kyle's offense gets that needed oil change and the HYPE is CRAZY the next two weeks!

I always had the outside idea of making an 18-game regular season with 2 bye weeks, so 20-weeks long. But more importantly, players can only play a max of 16 games per regular season (with an exception to kickers, punters and long snappers) making backup positions all the more important. You have to have a good backup QB because he'll have to start 2 games per season.

I understand this is a fantasy world thing of mine, but it creates so much more strategy. What two games a year do the Buccaneers decide to Brady won't suit up? Or if you have an injury prone player, you play him every game until he ultimately gets injured, forcing him out for the next two games or whatever.

It's a win-win. The NFL and the fans gets their 18-game season. The NFLPA and the players don't get more games. Maybe the only losers would be buying that game to go see Tom Brady play, but they decide not to suit him up that game and you're forced to watch Blaine Gabbers or Kyle Trask, lol.
