SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at ARIZONA CARDINALS - 2021 Game 5

I dont know what game alot of you watched. I thought the defense played very well today. I also thought that while alance had some tough moments he also showed again why he was picked 3rd overall. It truly feels like this team is splintered down the middle to me. There are some that are ok with and embrace Lance and then those that don't and like Jimmy at Qb. I think that the offense no matter who is under center has been limited this year, which I dont think anyone truly expected. McGlinchy is hot garbage and a liability again this year. He's in his head so bad and everyone knows it. Kyle's gamelan for today was trash and everything positive that happened was directly because of Trey Lance. He was making plays that weren't there, running when things broke down. Jimmy can't do any of that. Kyle for whatever reason seems to be coaching "tight" like he knows his ass is on the line. I hope they come back after the bye- with Lance and the full time starter...its his team and the rest of them need to get on board

It is what it is. This years team is good but not good enough to beat playoff teams. They are inconsistent. They are injured. And they are receiving middling QB play in a league that demands more.

Trey Lance performed okay, all things considered. It is clear that he isn't ready to run a proper passing offence in the NFL yet, but I am extremely encouraged by his ability to extend plays, his ability to get yards from nothing, and his ability to scramble with his eye downfield. The also didn't have a lot of false starts which is good.

Pretty much what I see as well, with that being said there is 0 point in continuing with jimmy if that's the case

Wtf happened to "the playbook remains the same for both Qb's"???

it looked like we stole Carolina's Cam Newton playbook. Completely stupid calls

Kid isn't ready to run the offense completely, that much is obvious…he's been rocking scout team all season.

but you can see the upside

Definitely, next stage is taking those check downs. He wants the big play every time it seems.

There's context to everything, that's the point. There was some damn I see why he was the pick moments…like I said the kid through his body on the line a ton tonight. If you can't respect that then that's all I need to know.

That's how a lot of young rookies that made big plays in college were when they first started. He will get there & learn

Meanwhile the other guy quit after a Charlie horse contusion to the calf

Kyle's clock management, play calling, decision making and over aggressiveness on 4th down cost us. He's regressing as a HC not getting better.

I like the over aggressiveness on 4th down. Agreed with every single attempt.

Just need to man up and convert.

Today on the broadcast they said it was torn. I've now heard three different ailments with his calf.

A calf strain is a tear, so they're not incorrect to say it was torn.

Yeah I heard that too. I doubt it though. I don't think he could've played through that (supposed injury happened in first quarter) and then stood on the sidelines the rest of the game. Then "had a chance" to play this week. An MRI would show if it was torn

They need to keep him on the bench, he is a touch away from a torn achilles .
