What's wrong with the offense?

I can only blame the players so much before I turn to the front office/Shanahan. Not addressing the O-line, secondary or our lack of perimeter speed.

Shanahan's offense has been schemed up by the league. We aren't fooling anyone anymore, and Kyle doesn't have the horses to fix it in season.

Also Mcglinchey, what the f^%k is going on with this guy?
Watching him, Mack and Brunskill get slapped around on every friggin down is beyond aggravating. I thought Watt was going unblocked he was getting through the line so fast.

The dearth of points in first halve this year is startling.
Isn't that when it's supposed to be easier to score, with designed set plays?
So what the hell is Shanahan doing? Is he designing good plays? Is he leaving no stone unturned that the players have learnt the plays and are ready to execute?
Cause it sure as hell doesn't appear that way.
In spite of all the other problems being mentioned, we could have been 5-0 right now. And why aren't we?

Drops.
Turnovers.
Penalties.
Bad decisions.

This team is UNDISCIPLINED. Especially the offense. That is on the coaching. All of these problems are a reflection of the coaching. And no, I'm not calling for Shanahan to be fired. I just think he is responsible for the culture of this team. The defense is doing better because they fixed a discipline problem: the edges were losing containment.

Crap OL because we have s**t talent evaluation.

Underutilized skill players because Kyle holds a grudge.

Stupid play calls.
What's wrong with our offense?
1. Our coach abandoned the run
2. Our line committed too many penalties
3. Our WR's dropped some key passes
4. Our offense kept going for it on 4th down
5. Not having Kittle was the biggest reason we struggled
PS
The refs called the game for Arizona to win
Handful of penalties they called wrong or ignored

Did we take this guy to be a backup?

I think he's supposed to keep Banks company on the bench
Shanahan is the problem!

A team that Is built to run the ball, doesn't want to 🤔. We need to get back to basics.

This line isn't used to blocking for a fast running qb. He's darting all over the place and they start holding not knowing where he's at. Complete and utter coaching failure
Steve young said sometimes he'd run for 10 yards or run around and throw a pass and Bill Walsh would tell him, "that's great, but nobody knows where you are."
I do think our Oline other than Trent is pretty garbage.

Was never big on Laken, clearly Mack is too old, Brunskill is average and Mcglinchey is a bust.

they aren't build to pass protect, just good run blockers.

Like Jonny said, we don't have an X WR right now. BA can't win one on one, he's not separating. I'm not sure what's going on with him, but he doesn't look good.

I think Kyle needs to go back the drawing board a little and revamp the scheme to fit Lance vs Jimmy. The team (including the OL) are playing two different styles of play with each QB. The amount of holding calls IMO kinda reflects that.
Tossing this out there, why not make a move for OBJ? Been watching some of the Browns games (Fantasy purposes) dude is constantly getting open and never getting the ball thrown his way.

There's your XWR and deep threat for Lance going forward. He's got no GTD cash left and I'm sure SF would be more than happy to restructure/extend him so he has GTD cash and a lower cap hit.

Brian Deboll may be the answer if Shanahan can't get it together. He has worked at Alabama, New England, and KC so he can run an offense that his Dad didn't make. Also, he has helped Allen become a much better passer. So he could work with and construct an offense around Lance.

He has pretty much just coached under Bill Belichick disciples.

Probably the same reason we didn't make an effort to trade for Gilmore. We like our guys.
We need a GM that doesn't have to answer to Kyle.
I would say it's the leader. He's not a great OC even. He's a good play designer and that is even questionable. Over his head and the record shows that as does him getting outcoached week in and week out.
