Assuming Jimmy Garoppolo is healthy after the bye, what should we do?

Why would you want to start Jimmy again? Let the kid learn

It's not like we are bringing back Jimmy at the end of the year

The kid needs to learn not to take 50 hits in a game. Let him redshirt this year and learn how to be an NFL QB.

How do you not take hits on QB draws up the middle? He should slide as soon as he gets the snap or something? That was a horrible gameplan and there's no way he wasn't gonna get hit on all those designed runs up the middle.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but he also ran it a lot when it wasn't a designed QB run, and he didn't even stick the ball out on the try for the endzone.

I'll tell you what we SHOULD do, is trade Jimmy. He's no longer in the teams long term plans so why the f**k is he here.
Jimmy and its not even close.

1) As limited as some folks think the offense is with Jimmy, its SIGNIFICANTLY MORE LIMITED with Lance.

2) You cannot, in good conscience, put a rookie QB coming off a sprained knee back in when most of what he brings is running (planned or otherwise) due to being extremely raw.

3) Jimmy is the best chance for a playoff appearance.

What's the stat? 25-10 when healthy?

Yeah, that matters.

Come on, you're better than that.

If they trade Jimmy, its Trey and SUCKfeld, with this team having no chance to sniff the playoffs.

Chill with the Jimmy hate.

^another poster with a time machine! Where can I get one??
If we don't start him now, and get the growing pains out of the way, all we are doing is putting that off until next year. When we would still have to go through them.

exactly.

Trey is best option at this point.

That I believe. Although with RG3 it definitely wasn't run up the middle 10 times. Should've used more zone read out of the gun, and less of that pistol bs.

Kyle needs to adapt there, or just let him play a little football. The guy played under center the whole time in college. But we know how stubborn Kyle can be at times.

Seriously was getting pissed seeing so many damn plays from the Pistol. Use him under center dammit.

Not really, Pat Mahomes only started one game his rookie year and he turned out fine. And I think that's coming from a college Air Raid system too.

maybe this is what Shanahan wants since he can point to that as an excuse for another losing season.

A high majority of his college snaps were from shotgun/pistol.

edit: At least on his passing and running plays. Perhaps he did a lot of handoffs to the RB from under center.

I may not post that much, but based on what I've read over the years, I know significantly more about the 49ers and football in general than the vast majority of Webzoners.

EASILY.
